企業概要
Franklin Electric Co., Inc. is a specialized manufacturer and distributor that designs, produces, and distributes comprehensive water and fuel pumping systems across the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia Pacific region. The company operates within the Industrials sector, specifically categorized under the Specialty Industrial Machinery industry, a classification that reflects its focus on high-precision equipment essential for critical infrastructure rather than mass-market consumer goods. As of the latest available data, the enterprise holds a market capitalization of $4.44B and reported annual revenues of $2.13B, supporting a global workforce of 6,500 employees. These financial figures indicate that Franklin Electric operates as a mid-to-large cap entity with significant operational scale, positioning it as a substantial player in the global fluid handling market with a diversified geographic footprint that mitigates reliance on any single regional economy.
財務健全性
The company reported trailing twelve-month revenue of $2.13B and net income of $146.49M, while EBITDA stood at $335.77M, revealing a significant gap between top-line revenue and bottom-line profit that highlights the substantial impact of operating expenses, taxes, and interest costs on the final earnings figure. Free cash flow generation amounted to $74.00M, which provides the organization with the liquidity necessary to fund capital expenditures, service debt obligations, or return capital to shareholders without relying solely on external financing. The company maintains a gross margin of 35.5%, indicating a strong ability to cover the direct costs of goods sold, while the operating margin of 10.3% and profit margin of 6.9% demonstrate effective control over overhead expenses and a moderate final profitability level relative to total sales. Regarding solvency, total cash on hand of $99.66M is less than the total debt of $234.01M, resulting in a debt-to-equity ratio of 17.63, which suggests the balance sheet carries a degree of leverage typical for capital-intensive industrial machinery firms rather than a highly conservative cash-rich posture. However, the current ratio of 2.79 indicates robust short-term liquidity, as current assets are nearly three times the value of current liabilities, ensuring the firm can meet its immediate obligations comfortably. Management effectiveness is further evidenced by a Return on Equity of 11.5% and a Return on Assets of 9.1%, metrics that signify efficient utilization of shareholder equity and total assets to generate profit.
バリュエーション評価
Valuation metrics show a trailing P/E ratio of 31.22 compared to a forward P/E of 19.62, implying that the market currently prices in significant future earnings growth that is expected to drive the stock price significantly lower relative to current earnings over time. The price-to-book ratio stands at 3.36, suggesting that the market values the company at a substantial premium over its tangible book value, likely reflecting intangible assets, brand strength, and growth prospects not captured in asset valuations. Alternative valuation measures include a price-to-sales ratio of 2.09 and an EV/EBITDA of 13.65, which provide context that investors are willing to pay roughly twice the annual sales revenue for the business, while the enterprise multiple suggests earnings power is valued at a moderate industrial standard. The stock has traded between a 52-week low of $78.87 and a 52-week high of $111.53, meaning the current price sits within this historical range but has demonstrated notable volatility over the past year. With a beta of 1.07, the stock exhibits price volatility that is slightly higher than the broader market, indicating it may move with greater intensity than the S&P 500 during periods of market fluctuation.
Growth & Income
Revenue growth over the last year was 4.3%, while earnings growth reached 21.0%, indicating that profitability is expanding at a rate significantly faster than sales, which often points to pricing power, cost efficiencies, or a favorable product mix improvement. As a dividend payer, Franklin Electric offers a yield of 1.1% with a payout ratio of 32.9%, a figure that is generally considered sustainable given the company's earnings growth trajectory and healthy free cash flow generation. The relatively low payout ratio allows the company to retain a majority of its earnings for reinvestment into research and development, manufacturing capacity, or strategic acquisitions rather than distributing all profits as cash. Overall, the company presents a growth and income profile characterized by moderate revenue expansion, accelerating earnings growth, and a conservative dividend policy that balances shareholder returns with capital preservation.
