公司概述

Adecoagro S.A. engages in agricultural and agro-industrial activities across Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Uruguay, operating primarily through its Farming segment and Sugar, Ethanol, and Energy segment to produce a range of agricultural commodities including soybean and co. The company operates within the Consumer Defensive sector and the Farm Products industry, classifications that indicate its business provides essential agricultural goods that are generally less sensitive to economic downturns compared to cyclical industries. With a market capitalization of $2.00B and annual revenue of $1.43B, the firm represents a mid-to-large scale entity within the global agricultural landscape, though specific employee count data is currently unavailable. These valuation and revenue figures suggest the company maintains a significant operational footprint capable of generating substantial top-line growth, yet the absence of reported employee metrics limits a direct assessment of labor intensity relative to peers.

财务健康

The company reported revenue of $1.43B over the trailing twelve months, accompanied by a net income loss of $-8,348,000 and an EBITDA of $249.36M, revealing a cost structure where operating expenses and interest costs significantly erode bottom-line profitability despite robust cash generation from operations. While the net income is negative, the substantial free cash flow of $346.63M indicates strong financial flexibility, suggesting the business model effectively converts earnings into cash before accounting for capital expenditures and debt servicing. The gross margin stands at 19.3%, reflecting the cost of goods sold relative to sales, while the operating margin of 2.4% and profit margin of -0.6% highlight the challenges in covering overheads and interest to achieve overall profitability. The balance sheet shows a cash position of $472.98M against total debt of $1.95B, resulting in a debt-to-equity ratio of 108.78, which characterizes the company as highly leveraged with liabilities substantially exceeding equity. Current ratio of 1.38 demonstrates adequate short-term liquidity, indicating the firm possesses sufficient current assets to cover its current liabilities without immediate distress. Return on Equity is -0.4% and Return on Assets is 0.8%, metrics that reveal management has yet to generate returns on invested capital sufficient to offset interest expenses and operational inefficiencies.

估值评估

The forward P/E ratio is 10.56, while the trailing P/E ratio is N/A, a discrepancy that implies earnings are currently suppressed by losses and that the market is pricing in future profitability improvements rather than historical performance. The price-to-book ratio of 1.21 suggests the market values the company at a slight premium over its book value, potentially reflecting expectations of future asset appreciation or intangible value not fully captured on the balance sheet. Alternative valuation metrics such as the price-to-sales ratio of 1.40 and an EV/EBITDA of 14.51 provide context independent of earnings volatility, indicating the company is valued at roughly 1.4 times its sales generation and 14.5 times its pre-interest and tax earnings. The 52-week high is $15.89 and the 52-week low is $6.89, placing the current trading price within this historical range and reflecting significant price discovery volatility over the past year. The beta of 0.06 indicates extremely low price volatility relative to the broader market, suggesting the stock price is largely insulated from general equity market movements.

Growth & Income

Revenue growth stands at 11.1% year-over-year, whereas earnings growth is N/A due to the recent net loss, implying that top-line expansion has not yet translated into bottom-line improvements and that cost management remains a critical focus. The dividend yield is 2.5%, paired with a payout ratio of 149.1%, which indicates that the company is paying dividends out of cash flows or reserves rather than current net income, a practice that may not be sustainable if earnings do not improve in subsequent periods. Given the negative net income, the company currently cannot sustain a payout funded by earnings, necessitating reliance on free cash flow to maintain the dividend while rebuilding retained earnings. The overall growth and income profile presents a mix of double-digit revenue expansion and a high-yield dividend that relies on cash generation rather than reported profitability, creating a complex risk-reward dynamic for income-focused investors.
