分析

企業概要

CVR Energy, Inc. is an enterprise focused on renewable fuels, petroleum refining, marketing, and nitrogen fertilizer manufacturing activities within the United States. The company operates through three distinct segments, specifically the Petroleum, Renewables, and Nitrogen Fertilizer divisions, with the Petroleum segment dedicated to refining operations. This business falls under the Energy sector and specifically within the Oil & Gas Refining & Marketing industry, positioning the firm as a critical player in the domestic supply chain for essential fuels and agricultural inputs. In terms of scale, the company holds a market capitalization of $3.07B and generates annual revenue of $7.16B over the trailing twelve months while employing approximately 1,532 individuals. The combination of a $3.07B market cap and $7.16B in revenue indicates that CVR Energy, Inc. operates as a mid-to-large-cap entity with significant operational footprint, though the disparity between its valuation multiples and revenue suggests a market assessment that heavily weighs current profitability constraints and asset-specific risks rather than pure revenue growth potential.

財務健全性

Over the trailing twelve months, the company reported revenue of $7.16B, net income of $27.00M, and EBITDA of $590.00M, revealing a substantial gap between gross operational earnings and bottom-line profit that highlights a complex cost structure involving significant non-operating expenses or interest obligations. The free cash flow stands at -$220,000,000, indicating a negative cash generation position that limits the company's immediate financial flexibility for capital expenditures or unplanned opportunities without external financing. Margins across the business show a gross margin of 10.3%, an operating margin of -5.2%, and a profit margin of 0.4%, illustrating that while the company retains a portion of sales revenue after direct costs, operating leverage is currently insufficient to cover overheads, resulting in minimal net profitability. Liquidity and leverage metrics present a mixed picture; the company holds $511.00M in cash against $1.83B in total debt, resulting in a debt-to-equity ratio of 203.68% which signifies a highly leveraged balance sheet dependent on future cash flow generation to meet obligations. Despite the high leverage, the current ratio of 1.79 suggests that the company maintains adequate short-term liquidity, as current assets exceed current liabilities by a factor greater than one. Return metrics such as a Return on Equity of 10.1% and a Return on Assets of 2.9% indicate that management is effectively utilizing shareholder equity to generate returns, although the low ROA reflects the heavy asset base and the dilutive impact of the company's substantial debt load on overall asset efficiency.

バリュエーション評価

Valuation multiples for CVR Energy, Inc. show a trailing P/E ratio of 113.07 contrasted with a forward P/E of 23.51, implying that the market is pricing in a significant expected improvement in earnings trajectory as investors anticipate a divergence between current low profitability and future operational performance. The price-to-book ratio of 4.20 indicates that the stock trades at a substantial premium over its book value, suggesting that the market values the company's intangible assets, brand, or strategic market position higher than the sum of its tangible assets alone. Alternative valuation metrics such as a price-to-sales ratio of 0.43 and an EV/EBITDA of 7.72 provide context that the stock is trading at a discount relative to its sales base and enterprise value adjusted earnings, potentially reflecting market caution regarding the negative operating margins and high debt load. Price action metrics show a 52-week high of $41.67 and a 52-week low of $15.69, establishing a wide trading range where the current valuation must be interpreted relative to these extremes to assess volatility and potential mean reversion levels. The beta value of 0.91 indicates that the stock's price volatility is roughly in line with the broader market, suggesting that CVR Energy, Inc. does not exhibit extreme sensitivity to market swings but may underperform or outperform depending on sector-specific energy dynamics and commodity price movements.

Growth & Income

Growth metrics reveal a revenue decline of -7.0% year-over-year with earnings growth listed as N/A, indicating that the company is currently in a contractionary phase where revenue is shrinking and earnings data is insufficient to calculate a meaningful growth rate for comparison. Since the earnings growth rate is unavailable, it is impossible to determine if earnings are growing faster or slower than revenue, but the negative revenue trend suggests a challenging operational environment affecting top-line performance. Regarding income distribution, the company offers a dividend yield of 4.8% despite a payout ratio of 0.0%, a combination that suggests the dividend may be funded from cash reserves or debt rather than retained earnings, requiring close monitoring of the sustainability of this yield given the lack of earnings retention. Consequently, the overall growth and income profile is characterized by significant revenue contraction, high dividend yield supported by zero payout ratio, and a lack of clear earnings growth visibility, creating a scenario where income support exists but is decoupled from traditional earnings-based growth metrics.
