कंपनी का अवलोकन

CVR Energy, Inc. operates as a major player in the United States energy landscape, engaging specifically in the production of renewable fuels, petroleum refining, marketing, and nitrogen fertilizer manufacturing activities. The corporation functions within the broader Energy sector and focuses on the specialized Oil & Gas Refining & Marketing industry, which involves processing crude oil into usable products and distributing them to end-users. This entity employs a workforce of 1,532 individuals and holds a total market capitalization of $3.07 billion while generating annual revenue of $7.16 billion. These financial figures indicate that the company possesses significant operational scale within its niche, holding a substantial market position that allows it to manage large volumes of refined products and chemical inputs despite the cyclical nature of the refining industry.

वित्तीय स्वास्थ्य

The company reported a trailing twelve-month revenue of $7.16 billion, with a corresponding net income of $27.00 million and an EBITDA of $590.00 million. The substantial disparity between the high revenue figure and the relatively modest net income reveals a cost structure characterized by significant operating expenses, including refining costs, labor, and overhead, which compresses the final profit margin. Free cash flow stands at -$220,000,000, indicating a negative cash generation from operations after capital expenditures, which suggests the company is currently investing heavily in maintenance or expansion, thereby limiting immediate financial flexibility for internal funding. Profitability is further highlighted by a gross margin of 10.3%, an operating margin of -5.2%, and a profit margin of 0.4%, collectively indicating that the business model relies on high volume to cover costs, as the negative operating margin shows that operating expenses currently exceed operating income. The balance sheet reflects a leveraged position with total debt of $1.83 billion against cash reserves of $511.00 million, resulting in a debt-to-equity ratio of 203.68, which signifies a high reliance on borrowed capital to fund operations and assets. Liquidity management is supported by a current ratio of 1.79, which indicates that the company holds sufficient current assets to cover its short-term liabilities with a comfortable buffer. Return metrics show a Return on Equity of 10.1% and a Return on Assets of 2.9%, revealing that while the company generates decent returns for shareholders relative to equity, the return on total assets is lower, reflecting the capital-intensive nature of the refining business and the impact of high leverage.

मूल्यांकन आकलन

Valuation metrics for CVR Energy, Inc. show a Trailing Twelve Months (TTM) P/E ratio of 113.07 and a Forward P/E of 23.51. The stark difference between these two figures implies that the market expects a significant expansion in future earnings relative to current levels, or alternatively, that current earnings are temporarily suppressed by one-time costs or cyclical downturns. The price-to-book ratio stands at 4.20, which indicates that the stock is trading at a substantial market premium over its book value, suggesting investors are pricing in intangible assets or future growth potential that exceeds the tangible net asset base. Alternative valuation measures include a price-to-sales ratio of 0.43 and an EV/EBITDA of 7.72, which suggest the company is valued at a discount relative to its sales revenue compared to its earnings power, potentially reflecting the current cyclical headwinds in the refining sector. The stock has traded within a range defined by a 52-week high of $41.67 and a 52-week low of $15.69, placing the current trading price significantly below the recent peak and indicating a period of substantial price correction or consolidation. The beta value of 0.91 indicates that the stock's price volatility is closely aligned with the broader market movements, moving slightly less than the market average during periods of high volatility.

Growth & Income

Revenue growth for the trailing twelve months is recorded at -7.0%, while earnings growth is listed as N/A due to the low net income relative to revenue fluctuations. The negative revenue growth suggests a contraction in market demand or pricing pressure, and since earnings are not growing at a positive rate to offset this, the company's profitability is under pressure from declining top-line performance. Regarding income distribution, the company offers a dividend yield of 4.8% with a payout ratio of 0.0%. This unique combination indicates that while the company returns significant capital to shareholders through dividends, it is not funding these payments directly from current net earnings, likely relying on cash reserves or other capital sources to maintain the yield. Consequently, the company is effectively reinvesting its core earnings or utilizing existing cash balances to sustain the dividend rather than paying it out of the current period's net income. The overall growth and income profile presents a mixed picture of high current income yield coupled with negative revenue growth and a non-traditional earnings payout structure, typical of mature cyclical energy companies navigating a downturn.
