公司概述

CVR Energy, Inc. operates as a comprehensive energy provider in the United States, engaging specifically in renewable fuels production, petroleum refining and marketing, and the manufacturing of nitrogen fertilizer through its subsidiaries. The company functions within the broader Energy sector and the specialized Oil & Gas Refining & Marketing industry, positioning itself to capitalize on fluctuating commodity prices and regulatory shifts regarding renewable energy adoption. As of the latest data, CVR Energy boasts a market capitalization of $3.07 billion and generates annual revenue of $7.16 billion, supported by a workforce of 1,532 employees. These valuation and revenue figures indicate that CVR Energy is a mid-to-large-cap entity with significant operational scale, suggesting a substantial footprint in the complex supply chain of fuel production and agricultural chemical manufacturing that serves as a critical backbone for national infrastructure.

财务健康

The financial statements for CVR Energy reveal a revenue stream of $7.16 billion over the trailing twelve months, accompanied by a net income of $27.00 million and an EBITDA of $590.00 million. The substantial disparity between the $7.16 billion in revenue and the $27.00 million in net income highlights a highly leveraged cost structure where significant operating expenses, likely including feedstock costs and debt servicing, consume the majority of top-line earnings. However, the company maintains a positive EBITDA of $590.00 million, which demonstrates that its core operations before interest and taxes remain profitable despite the net income compression. On the liquidity front, the company holds $511.00 million in cash against $1.83 billion in total debt, resulting in a debt-to-equity ratio of 203.68, which characterizes the balance sheet as highly leveraged rather than conservative. This heavy reliance on debt financing is reflected in the operating margin of -5.2% and the current ratio of 1.79, the latter indicating that the company possesses sufficient short-term assets to cover its current liabilities with a 1.79-to-1 buffer. Profitability metrics further illustrate this dynamic, with a gross margin of 10.3%, a profit margin of 0.4%, and a return on equity of 10.1%, while the return on assets stands at 2.9%. These return metrics suggest that while the company generates decent returns on shareholder equity, its overall capital efficiency is constrained by the high asset base required to support its refining and manufacturing operations.

估值评估

Valuation metrics for CVR Energy present a complex picture, featuring a trailing twelve-month P/E ratio of 113.07 contrasted sharply with a forward P/E of 23.51. This drastic difference between the historical and forward multiples implies that the market expects a dramatic turnaround in earnings trajectory, anticipating that future earnings will be significantly higher than current reported levels to justify the lower forward multiple. The price-to-book ratio stands at 4.20, indicating that the stock trades at a significant premium relative to its book value, which often suggests high growth expectations or specific asset valuation nuances within the energy sector. Alternative valuation measures include a price-to-sales ratio of 0.43 and an EV/EBITDA of 7.72, which together suggest that while the stock is expensive relative to its book value, it trades at a moderate multiple relative to its earnings before interest and taxes and sales. In terms of trading range, the stock has fluctuated between a 52-week low of $15.69 and a 52-week high of $41.67, providing context for volatility analysis. The beta value of 0.91 indicates that the stock's price volatility is generally in line with the broader market, moving neither excessively aggressively nor defensively relative to systemic risk factors.

Growth & Income

Growth analysis shows a year-over-year revenue decline of -7.0%, while earnings growth data is not available, creating an asymmetry where revenue contraction precedes known earnings performance. The absence of reported earnings growth figures necessitates caution in assessing whether earnings are growing faster or slower than revenue, as the current revenue decline of -7.0% suggests a challenging operational environment that may impact future earnings visibility. Regarding income distribution, CVR Energy offers a dividend yield of 4.8% with a payout ratio of 0.0%, indicating that the company currently retains all of its earnings rather than distributing them to shareholders. This 0.0% payout ratio confirms that the company is effectively reinvesting its earnings into growth initiatives or debt reduction rather than paying dividends, which is a common strategy for capital-intensive refineries facing temporary profitability headwinds. The overall growth and income profile is characterized by a current contraction in top-line revenue, a highly attractive dividend yield derived from retained earnings, and a lack of historical earnings growth data that limits the ability to forecast future expansion trajectories.
