企業概要

ATS Corporation is a global provider of automation solutions that encompasses the full lifecycle of automated manufacturing and assembly systems, ranging from initial planning and design to construction, commissioning, and ongoing servicing. Operating within the Industrials sector and specifically the Specialty Industrial Machinery industry, the company focuses on delivering automation products and test solutions to clients worldwide. The enterprise currently holds a market capitalization of $2.97B and generates annual revenue of $2.80B based on trailing twelve-month data. With an employee base of 7,500, the firm demonstrates significant operational scale, positioning it as a substantial player in the specialized machinery landscape where valuation metrics often reflect high growth expectations despite current profitability challenges.

財務健全性

ATS Corporation reported a trailing twelve-month revenue of $2.80B with a corresponding net income of $18.88M and EBITDA of $195.85M, highlighting a substantial disparity between top-line growth and bottom-line profitability. The significant gap between the $2.80B revenue and the $18.88M net income reveals a cost structure where operating expenses, including selling, general, and administrative costs, consume a vast majority of earnings before interest and taxes. The company generated free cash flow of $353.09M, which provides a robust buffer for financial flexibility, allowing for potential debt reduction, capital expenditures, or reinvestment in automation technology without relying on external financing. Profitability analysis shows a gross margin of 26.0%, an operating margin of 8.3%, and a net profit margin of 0.7%, indicating that while the company successfully prices its specialized machinery, its overall conversion of revenue to net profit remains low due to high operational leverage. The balance sheet shows total cash of $263.09M against total debt of $1.52B, resulting in a debt-to-equity ratio of 85.52, which suggests the company maintains a highly leveraged position relative to its equity base. Liquidity is supported by a current ratio of 1.65, indicating that current assets are sufficient to cover current liabilities with a margin of safety. Return on equity stands at 1.1% and return on assets is 1.4%, metrics that reflect the difficulty of generating high returns on capital given the company's heavy debt load and low net profit margins.

バリュエーション評価

The valuation metrics present a complex picture with a trailing P/E ratio of 219.14 compared to a forward P/E of 19.85, implying that the market expects a dramatic improvement in earnings trajectory to align the current price with future performance. The price-to-book ratio is recorded at 2.32, indicating that the stock trades at a significant premium over its net asset value, likely driven by the specialized nature of its automation business and growth expectations. Alternative valuation multiples such as the price-to-sales ratio of 1.06 and an EV/EBITDA of 21.81 suggest that the company is valued primarily on revenue generation and earnings power before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization rather than current net income. The stock has a 52-week high of $33.01 and a 52-week low of $20.90, and without a specific current share price provided in the data, the relative trading position cannot be calculated as a percentage deviation from this range, but the wide spread indicates significant volatility. The beta value of 1.26 signifies that the stock price exhibits higher volatility relative to the broader market, moving more aggressively than the general index during periods of market fluctuation.

Growth & Income

Revenue growth for the trailing twelve months stands at 16.7% while earnings growth is reported at 358.0%, demonstrating that earnings are expanding at a rate vastly faster than revenue, which typically implies a one-time event, a significant cost reduction, or a structural change in the cost base affecting the bottom line disproportionately. As a non-dividend payer, the company does not distribute a dividend yield or has a payout ratio of 0.0%, meaning all earnings are retained within the business to fund operations, pay down the substantial $1.52B debt, or invest in new automation projects rather than returning cash to shareholders. This reinvestment strategy is consistent with a company in a capital-intensive industry like specialty industrial machinery that requires continuous investment in research and development to maintain its competitive edge in global automation solutions. Overall, the growth profile is characterized by exceptional earnings expansion and a complete reinvestment of cash flows, while the income profile is defined by the absence of dividend distributions, reflecting a growth-oriented capital allocation policy.
