企業概要

Gladstone Land Corporation (LANDP) operates as a publicly traded real estate investment trust focused on acquiring and holding farmland and associated agricultural properties within major U.S. agricultural markets. As a specialist within the REIT - Specialty sector, the company generates income primarily through land leases and property appreciation rather than traditional corporate operations. Although specific employee headcount data is not disclosed in the available financial records, the entity's scale is defined by its substantial asset base, comprising approximately 103,000 acres situated across 15 different states and over 55 individual farms. The reported annual revenue of $88.31 million indicates a significant operational footprint in the agricultural real estate domain, while the absence of market cap data suggests the valuation is currently derived from private market assessments or specific share class structures rather than a broad public float metric. These figures collectively establish the company as a mid-to-large scale player dedicated to long-term agricultural land ownership, distinct from general commercial real estate sectors.

財務健全性

The company reported revenue of $88.31 million for the trailing twelve months, yet recorded a net income of -$10.484 million, revealing a significant gap between top-line revenue and bottom-line profitability. This discrepancy indicates a cost structure where non-operating expenses, interest costs, or one-time charges are substantial enough to erase operating profits, resulting in a negative net income despite positive operational cash generation. In contrast, the entity generated $70.29 million in EBITDA and $50.40 million in free cash flow, highlighting strong underlying cash-generating capabilities and significant financial flexibility to service obligations or reinvest in assets. The gross margin stands at 72.5%, reflecting the high inherent profitability of holding and leasing land assets with low variable costs, while the operating margin of 29.2% demonstrates efficient management of day-to-day operational expenses before interest and taxes. However, the profit margin of 15.3% is mathematically inconsistent with the reported negative net income, suggesting the metric may represent an average or specific segment performance distinct from the consolidated loss. The balance sheet shows $16.36 million in cash against $541.38 million in debt, resulting in a debt-to-equity ratio of 81.81, which indicates a highly leveraged capital structure typical of REITs but requiring careful debt management. The current ratio of 1.35 suggests the company maintains adequate short-term liquidity to cover its current liabilities, though the high debt load constrains this safety buffer. Return on Equity is reported at 2.0% and Return on Assets at 1.2%, metrics that reflect the impact of high leverage and the specific accounting treatment of losses on overall return efficiency.

バリュエーション評価

The trailing twelve-month P/E ratio and forward P/E ratio are not available due to the reported negative earnings, rendering traditional earnings-based valuation multiples inapplicable for assessing current valuation multiples directly. However, the price-to-book ratio is calculated at 1.12, indicating that the market values the company's equity slightly above its accounting book value, suggesting a modest market premium for its tangible agricultural assets. Alternative valuation metrics provide clearer insight, with an EV/EBITDA multiple of 19.16 and an absent price-to-sales ratio, where the high EV/EBITDA suggests the market is willing to pay a premium for future earnings potential despite current accounting losses. The stock has traded between a 52-week high of $20.79 and a 52-week low of $18.21, with the current trading range reflecting recent market volatility within this specific band. The beta of 1.23 indicates that the stock's price volatility is 23% higher than the broader market, suggesting higher sensitivity to market movements and specific agricultural sector risks. These valuation figures must be interpreted with caution given the negative net income and the specialized nature of the underlying farmland assets.

Growth & Income

Revenue growth year-over-year is reported at an impressive 96.5%, indicating a massive expansion in top-line activity, while earnings growth is not applicable due to the negative net income figure. This divergence implies that recent revenue expansion has not yet translated into profitability, potentially due to the timing of lease expirations, acquisition costs, or interest rate impacts on the leveraged balance sheet. Regarding income, the company offers a dividend yield of 7.6%, which is a notable feature for income-focused investors, although the payout ratio is not disclosed. The sustainability of this yield relative to the negative earnings and high debt load requires close monitoring, as paying dividends while reporting a net loss suggests the payout is likely funded by free cash flow or asset sales rather than retained earnings. The overall growth and income profile presents a high-risk, high-reward scenario characterized by significant revenue expansion and a substantial dividend yield, offset by current accounting losses and a highly leveraged balance sheet structure.
