企業概要

General Dynamics Corporation is a globally operating aerospace and defense firm that delivers a diverse portfolio of systems and services through its specialized segments. The company operates within the Industrials sector, specifically focusing on the Aerospace & Defense industry, which entails supplying critical infrastructure, weaponry, and technology solutions to government and commercial clients. General Dynamics holds a market capitalization of $93.14B and generates annual revenue of $52.55B, supporting a workforce of 117,000 employees worldwide. These valuation and revenue figures indicate that the enterprise commands a significant position in the global defense market, reflecting its established scale and capacity to sustain high capital expenditure requirements typical of the defense manufacturing landscape.

財務健全性

The company reported a trailing twelve-month revenue of $52.55B with a corresponding net income of $4.21B and an EBITDA of $6.34B, highlighting a substantial gap between top-line sales and bottom-line profit that reveals a cost structure heavily influenced by operational expenses, cost of goods sold, and interest costs. General Dynamics generates $3.36B in free cash flow, which provides the financial flexibility to fund ongoing capital investments, service debt obligations, and potentially return capital to shareholders without compromising operational stability. Profitability analysis shows a gross margin of 15.1%, an operating margin of 10.1%, and a profit margin of 8.0%, indicating that for every dollar of revenue, the company retains a specific portion after accounting for production costs, overhead, and all other expenses. On the balance sheet, the company holds $2.33B in cash against $9.79B in debt, resulting in a debt-to-equity ratio of 38.20, which suggests a leveraged capital structure rather than a highly conservative one. The current ratio stands at 1.44, indicating that the company possesses sufficient current assets to cover its short-term liabilities with a comfortable buffer. Furthermore, the return on equity is 17.7% while the return on assets is 6.0%, revealing that management is effectively utilizing shareholder equity to generate returns, though asset utilization efficiency is moderated by the company's significant asset base.

バリュエーション評価

Valuation metrics show a trailing P/E ratio of 22.27 and a forward P/E of 19.14, where the lower forward multiple implies that the market expects earnings to grow or that current earnings are temporarily depressed relative to future expectations. The price-to-book ratio is 3.62, suggesting that the stock trades at a significant premium over its net asset value, which is common for defense contractors with intangible assets like intellectual property and long-term government contracts. Alternative valuation measures include a price-to-sales ratio of 1.77 and an EV/EBITDA of 15.81, which provide context by comparing market value to revenue and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization, respectively. The 52-week trading range spans from a low of $249.92 to a high of $369.70, placing the current valuation somewhere within this historical band relative to the recent volatility. The beta of 0.39 indicates that the stock exhibits low price volatility relative to the broader market, moving less than half as much as the benchmark index during periods of market fluctuation.

Growth & Income

Growth dynamics are characterized by a revenue growth rate of 7.8% year-over-year contrasted with an earnings growth rate of 0.4% year-over-year, implying that earnings are growing significantly slower than revenue, likely due to margin compression or one-time costs affecting the bottom line. As a dividend payer, the company offers a yield of 1.8% with a payout ratio of 38.8%, a level that is generally considered sustainable given the earnings base, as the payout consumes less than half of the generated profit. This conservative payout ratio allows the company to retain a majority of earnings for reinvestment, capitalizing on the Aerospace, Marine Systems, Combat Systems, and Technologies segments to fund future projects. Overall, the company presents a profile of moderate revenue expansion with stable but subdued earnings growth, supported by a consistent dividend policy and a low-volatility stock price trajectory.
