公司概述

Donaldson Company, Inc. specializes in the global manufacture and distribution of filtration systems along with their corresponding replacement parts, serving a wide array of industrial applications through its specialized segments. The enterprise operates within the Industrials sector, specifically categorized under Specialty Industrial Machinery, a position that highlights its focus on essential equipment rather than mass-market consumer goods. With a market capitalization of $10.32 billion and an annual revenue of $3.75 billion, the company maintains a substantial operational footprint supported by a workforce of 15,000 employees. These financial metrics collectively indicate that Donaldson holds a significant position within its niche, commanding a valuation that reflects established market presence and the capital intensity typical of specialized machinery manufacturers.

财务健康

The company reported revenue of $3.75 billion, net income of $378.50 million, and EBITDA of $666.40 million, illustrating a distinct gap between top-line revenue and bottom-line profit that underscores the substantial cost structure inherent in manufacturing and logistics operations. This difference between revenue and net income reveals that approximately 28.5% of revenue is consumed by operating expenses, taxes, and interest before reaching the net profit figure. Free cash flow stands at $252.96 million, which signifies that the company generates sufficient operating cash to cover capital expenditures and maintain financial flexibility for operational needs without relying solely on external financing. Regarding profitability efficiency, the gross margin is 34.6%, indicating healthy pricing power relative to the cost of goods sold; the operating margin of 13.6% demonstrates effective control over administrative and selling expenses; and the profit margin of 10.1% reflects the final profitability after all costs, taxes, and interest. The balance sheet displays a cash position of $194.40 million against total debt of $680.80 million, resulting in a debt-to-equity ratio of 43.22, which suggests a leveraged capital structure where the company utilizes significant debt financing relative to shareholder equity. Current ratio analysis shows a figure of 2.29, indicating that the company holds more than twice the current assets needed to cover its short-term liabilities, thereby signaling robust short-term liquidity and an ability to meet obligations as they come due. Return on equity is calculated at 24.3% while return on assets stands at 11.8%, metrics that reveal management's effectiveness in generating shareholder returns relative to the equity invested and utilizing the total asset base to produce income.

估值评估

The trailing twelve-month P/E ratio is 27.84, while the forward P/E is projected at 20.38, a difference that implies the market expects earnings growth in the future that would justify a lower multiple compared to current earnings. The price-to-book ratio is 6.55, which indicates that the market is valuing the company at a significant premium over its net book value, likely reflecting intangible assets, brand strength, or growth prospects not fully captured on the balance sheet. Alternative valuation metrics such as the price-to-sales ratio of 2.75 and the EV/EBITDA of 16.21 provide different perspectives, suggesting the company is valued at roughly 2.75 times its sales and 16.21 times its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization. The stock's trading range over the past year spans from a 52-week low of $58.38 to a 52-week high of $112.84, meaning the current price point sits at a specific percentage below the 52-week high and above the 52-week low, reflecting recent market sentiment and volatility. The beta value is 1.06, which means the stock's price volatility is slightly higher than the broader market benchmark, indicating that it tends to move up and down with a slightly greater magnitude than the overall market index.

Growth & Income

Revenue growth stands at 3.0% year-over-year, whereas earnings growth is negative at -1.3%, a divergence that implies earnings are growing slower than revenue or contracting while sales expand, potentially signaling pressure on margins or one-time charges impacting profitability. For this dividend-paying entity, the dividend yield is 1.4% with a payout ratio of 36.6%, suggesting that the company distributes a portion of its earnings as dividends while retaining the majority of profits for reinvestment. The payout ratio of 36.6% is sustainable given the company's positive net income and free cash flow generation, allowing it to maintain shareholder returns even amidst fluctuating earnings growth rates. Overall, the growth and income profile presents a mix of moderate top-line expansion, a slight contraction in earnings, and a conservative dividend policy that balances current income with capital preservation.
