회사 개요

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated is a leading provider of enabling technologies that serve industrial growth markets across the United States, Europe, Asia, and international regions. The company operates within the Technology sector, specifically focusing on the Scientific & Technical Instruments industry, which implies a specialized niche catering to high-end research and industrial applications requiring precision equipment. Its operational scale is substantial, evidenced by a market capitalization of $30.58B, annual revenue of $6.12B, and an employee count of 15,800. These valuation and revenue figures indicate that the firm holds a significant position in the global market for scientific instruments, reflecting robust demand for its digital imaging sensors and spectral products in visible, infrared, ultraviolet, and X-ray ranges. The breadth of its geographic footprint combined with its diverse product portfolio underscores its ability to generate consistent revenue streams from specialized customers in critical infrastructure and defense sectors.

재무 건전성

The company reported a revenue of $6.12B and a net income of $894.80M for the trailing twelve months, while generating an EBITDA of $1.50B. The substantial gap between the $6.12B revenue and the $894.80M net income reveals a cost structure where expenses, including cost of goods sold and operating costs, consume approximately 85.4% of total sales before interest and taxes. Teledyne generated free cash flow of $686.29M, which indicates a strong capacity to fund capital expenditures, reduce debt, or pursue strategic acquisitions without relying on external financing. The company maintains a cash balance of $352.40M against total debt of $2.64B, resulting in a debt-to-equity ratio of 25.13, which suggests a leveraged balance sheet where interest obligations are significant relative to equity capitalization. Despite the leverage, the current ratio stands at 1.64, indicating that the company possesses sufficient liquid assets to cover its short-term liabilities comfortably. Return on equity is recorded at 8.9% while return on assets sits at 4.9%, metrics that reveal management's effectiveness in utilizing shareholder equity and total assets to generate profits within the capital-intensive instrument manufacturing sector.

밸류에이션 평가

The stock trades with a trailing P/E ratio of 34.97 and a forward P/E of 25.68, a difference that implies the market expects earnings growth to significantly compress the valuation multiple over the coming year. The price-to-book ratio is 2.90, indicating that the market prices the company at a substantial premium over its book value, likely due to intangible assets, proprietary technology, and strong brand equity in the scientific instrument space. Alternative valuation metrics such as the price-to-sales ratio of 5.00 and an EV/EBITDA of 21.95 suggest that investors are willing to pay a high multiple for the company's sales and operating cash generation capabilities. The 52-week high is $693.38 and the 52-week low is $428.89, placing the current trading price in a range that reflects recent market volatility but remains well below the yearly peak. The beta value of 1.01 suggests that the stock price volatility moves in line with the broader market, exhibiting neither significant amplification nor dampening of market swings compared to the S&P 500.

Growth & Income

Revenue growth year-over-year is 7.3% while earnings growth year-over-year is 39.1%, indicating that earnings are expanding at a pace much faster than top-line sales. This divergence implies that the company is benefiting from margin expansion, likely driven by product mix shifts, pricing power, or cost efficiencies that allow net income to outperform revenue growth. As a non-dividend payer, the company maintains a dividend yield of N/A and a payout ratio of 0.0%, meaning it reinvests all earnings back into the business rather than distributing cash to shareholders. This reinvestment strategy supports organic growth and R&D initiatives necessary to maintain leadership in the scientific and technical instruments industry. The overall growth and income profile characterizes Teledyne as a high-growth equity where shareholder returns are derived primarily through capital appreciation rather than dividend income, aligning with the profile of a technology firm investing heavily in future capabilities.
