회사 개요

Investors Title Company (ITIC) operates within the financial services sector, specifically focusing on the insurance-specialty industry by underwriting land titles and issuing residential and commercial title insurance for various property types. The company executes its operations through distinct Title Insurance and Exchange Services segments, providing essential risk mitigation services to institutional, commercial, and industrial clients alongside residential buyers. As of the latest reported data, the entity demonstrates a market capitalization of $441.47M and employs a workforce of 548 individuals to support its underwriting and exchange service capabilities. The annual revenue figure of $272.71M indicates that the company maintains a significant operational footprint within the specialty insurance market, positioning it as a notable participant in the regional and national title insurance landscape. This revenue scale, combined with a market cap of $441.47M, suggests a mature business model where the market values the company's established customer base and regulatory compliance capabilities, though the valuation does not yet reflect exponential growth trajectories typical of high-growth technology or biotech sectors.

재무 건전성

The company reported a trailing twelve-month revenue of $272.71M and generated a net income of $35.18M, resulting in an EBITDA of $48.92M that highlights a substantial gap between top-line revenue and bottom-line earnings. This disparity between the $272.71M revenue and the $35.18M net income reveals a cost structure heavily influenced by operating expenses, claims payouts, and acquisition costs inherent to the title insurance business model. The free cash flow stands at $20.72M, which provides the management team with financial flexibility to manage underwriting cycles, invest in technology platforms, or potentially acquire smaller competitors without needing to raise external capital immediately. Profitability metrics show a gross margin of 56.6%, an operating margin of 13.8%, and a profit margin of 12.9%, indicating that while the company retains more than half of its revenue as gross profit, significant operational costs reduce the final return to shareholders. On the balance sheet, the company holds $89.60M in cash against a total debt load of $8.05M, resulting in a debt-to-equity ratio of 3.00 which suggests a leveraged position relative to equity, despite the high absolute cash balance. Liquidity is supported by a current ratio of 1.47, indicating that the company possesses sufficient current assets to cover its short-term liabilities with a comfortable buffer. Return on Equity is recorded at 13.5% and Return on Assets at 8.0%, revealing that management generates a robust return on shareholder capital while maintaining efficiency in utilizing the asset base to generate earnings.

밸류에이션 평가

Valuation metrics indicate a trailing P/E ratio of 12.59, while the forward P/E is listed as N/A, implying that analysts or the market currently lack sufficient data to project future earnings per share with the confidence required to calculate a forward multiple. The price-to-book ratio is 1.65, which indicates that the market prices the company at a premium of 65% over its book value, reflecting intangible assets such as brand reputation, regulatory licenses, and the stability of its underwriting book. Alternative valuation measures include a price-to-sales ratio of 1.62 and an EV/EBITDA of 7.36, suggesting that the market values the company at roughly 1.6 times its sales and 7.36 times its adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization. The stock has traded between a 52-week low of $190.20 and a 52-week high of $288.98, meaning the current share price sits at a level that requires calculation to determine its exact percentage distance from the yearly highs and lows, but historically shows a range of nearly $100 in volatility. The beta of 0.67 indicates that the stock price exhibits lower volatility relative to the broader market, moving at approximately two-thirds the magnitude of the market index during periods of standard market fluctuations.

Growth & Income

Growth figures show a revenue decline of -1.6% year-over-year and an earnings decline of -10.1% year-over-year, indicating that earnings are contracting at a significantly faster rate than revenue, which often points to margin compression or one-time charges impacting profitability. The company offers a dividend yield of 0.8% with a payout ratio of 9.9%, suggesting that the dividend payments are extremely conservative and easily sustainable given the low percentage of earnings distributed to shareholders relative to retained earnings. Because the payout ratio is less than 10%, the company retains the vast majority of its earnings, prioritizing internal reinvestment and balance sheet strengthening over increasing shareholder payouts through dividend hikes. Overall, the growth and income profile reflects a mature, low-volatility utility-like characteristic with minimal dividend income and a contraction phase in earnings that investors must weigh against the safety of the balance sheet and the stability of the title insurance industry.
