企業概要

Investors Title Company (ITIC) is a specialized financial entity that engages in the underwriting and issuance of title insurance policies covering residential, institutional, commercial, and industrial properties. The firm operates primarily within the Financial Services sector, specifically categorized under the Insurance - Specialty industry, which involves providing risk mitigation against defects in title to real estate. This organization employs a workforce of 548 individuals and maintains a market capitalization of $441.47M while generating annual revenue (TTM) of $272.71M. These valuation and revenue figures indicate that the company operates as a mid-sized specialist within the broader financial landscape, possessing a tangible asset base sufficient to support its operations without reaching the scale of large-cap blue-chip institutions. The combination of its specific industry classification and its current financial size suggests a focused business model designed to serve niche markets within the real estate financing ecosystem.

財務健全性

The company reported a revenue (TTM) of $272.71M and a net income (TTM) of $35.18M, resulting in an EBITDA of $48.92M, which highlights a significant gap between top-line revenue and bottom-line profit attributable to operating expenses and taxes. This disparity reveals a cost structure where non-operating costs, including interest on debt and income taxes, consume a substantial portion of earnings before interest and taxes. The entity generates a free cash flow of $20.72M, providing a measure of financial flexibility that allows for capital expenditures, potential share repurchases, or debt reduction without external financing. Margin analysis shows a gross margin of 56.6%, an operating margin of 13.8%, and a profit margin of 12.9%, indicating that while the core underwriting business retains high value, operational efficiencies are necessary to convert that value into net profit. On the balance sheet, the company holds $89.60M in cash against $8.05M in debt, supported by a debt-to-equity ratio of 3.00, which suggests a leveraged capital structure typical for insurance firms holding significant float assets. Despite the leverage, the current ratio stands at 1.47, indicating adequate short-term liquidity to meet obligations as they come due. Return on equity is calculated at 13.5% and return on assets at 8.0%, metrics that reveal the effectiveness of management in utilizing shareholder capital and total assets to generate returns, respectively.

バリュエーション評価

The trailing P/E ratio is 12.59, while the forward P/E is listed as N/A, implying that the market currently relies on historical earnings rather than projected growth estimates for valuation purposes. The price-to-book ratio stands at 1.65, suggesting that the market values the company at a premium of 65% over its tangible book value, reflecting confidence in its intangible assets and future earning potential. Alternative valuation metrics include a price-to-sales ratio of 1.62 and an EV/EBITDA of 7.36, which collectively suggest the company is priced relative to its sales volume and cash-generating ability rather than just earnings per share. Regarding stock price volatility, the 52-week high is $288.98 and the 52-week low is $190.20, meaning the current trading position exists within this established range but does not touch either extreme. The beta value of 0.67 indicates that the stock's price volatility is significantly lower than the broader market, making it less sensitive to general market fluctuations compared to the S&P 500.

Growth & Income

Revenue growth year-over-year is -1.6% while earnings growth year-over-year is -10.1%, indicating that earnings are contracting at a much faster rate than revenue, which implies that margin compression or one-time costs are impacting profitability more severely than sales volume. The company offers a dividend yield of 0.8% with a payout ratio of 9.9%, suggesting that the dividend is highly sustainable as it is paid from a very small fraction of net income. This conservative payout structure allows the firm to retain the majority of its earnings for internal reinvestment rather than distributing them to shareholders. Overall, the growth and income profile reflects a mature, low-volatility business currently experiencing a contraction in profitability that is outpacing its decline in sales volume.
