分析

企業概要

UFP Industries, Inc. is an integrated manufacturer that designs, produces, and supplies a diverse range of wood and non-wood composite materials alongside other essential building materials for both domestic and international markets. The corporation operates strictly within the Basic Materials sector, specifically targeting the Lumber & Wood Production industry, a classification that underscores its fundamental role in providing raw and processed materials for construction and manufacturing sectors. The company demonstrates significant operational scale with a market capitalization of $5.39B, an annual revenue of $6.32B, and an employee base of 13,800 individuals distributed across its Retail, Construction, and Packaging segments. These financial dimensions indicate that UFP Industries, Inc. functions as a mid-to-large cap enterprise within the commodity materials landscape, possessing the capital resources and workforce necessary to maintain extensive production facilities and a broad distribution network.

財務健全性

The company reported a Total Revenue of $6.32B over the trailing twelve months, generating a Net Income of $283.70M and an EBITDA of $526.08M, revealing a cost structure where operating expenses and interest charges absorb approximately 46.4% of EBITDA before arriving at the bottom line. The Free Cash Flow stands at $117.39M, which provides the entity with tangible liquidity to service obligations, fund capital expenditures, or return capital to shareholders without relying on external financing. Margin analysis shows a Gross Margin of 16.8%, indicating the portion of revenue remaining after direct production costs, while the Operating Margin of 4.1% and Profit Margin of 4.7% reflect the company's efficiency in controlling overhead and translating sales into net earnings. The balance sheet displays a conservative profile with Cash assets totaling $948.57M against a Debt load of $356.84M, supported by a Debt to Equity ratio of 11.55 which suggests a leverage level where equity capital significantly exceeds debt obligations. Short-term liquidity is robust as evidenced by a Current Ratio of 4.59, meaning the company holds more than four times the current assets necessary to cover its short-term liabilities. Management effectiveness is quantified by a Return on Equity of 9.3% and a Return on Assets of 5.6%, metrics that demonstrate the ability to generate returns relative to the shareholders' investment and the total asset base utilized in operations.

バリュエーション評価

The valuation metrics present a Trailing P/E Ratio of 18.97 compared to a Forward P/E of 15.41, suggesting that the market expects a contraction in earnings relative to current levels, as the future multiple is notably lower than the historical average. The Price to Book ratio is recorded at 1.75, indicating that the stock trades at a 75% premium over its book value, which may reflect intangible assets, brand equity, or market expectations of future growth that are not captured on the balance sheet. Alternative valuation measures include a Price to Sales ratio of 0.85 and an EV/EBITDA of 9.13, figures that collectively suggest the company is trading at a valuation somewhat aligned with or slightly below historical averages for its sector. Price volatility is contextualized by a 52-Week High of $118.00 and a 52-Week Low of $84.82, framing the current trading environment within a range of approximately $33.18 in absolute terms. The Beta value of 1.44 indicates that the stock exhibits price volatility 44% higher than the broader market, implying that the asset is more sensitive to systemic market movements and macroeconomic shifts affecting the lumber industry.

Growth & Income

Recent performance data highlights a Revenue Growth of -9.0% year-over-year and an Earnings Growth of -39.7% year-over-year, illustrating that earnings are declining at a significantly faster pace than revenue, which points to rising unit costs or a sharp decline in profitability margins per unit sold. The company distributes income to shareholders with a Dividend Yield of 1.5% and maintains a Payout Ratio of 28.0%, a level that is generally sustainable as it covers the dividend from current earnings, though the recent earnings contraction tests the resilience of this commitment. Given the negative earnings growth, the dividend payout ratio warrants close monitoring to ensure that the company does not deplete cash reserves to maintain payouts while profitability recovers. The overall growth and income profile for UFP Industries, Inc. is currently characterized by a defensive income stream via dividends offset by significant headwinds in both revenue and earnings growth metrics.
