公司概述
American Strategic Investment Co. operates as an externally managed entity focused on acquiring and holding a portfolio of commercial real estate assets situated within the five boroughs of New York City, with a primary concentration in Manhattan. The company functions within the broader Real Estate sector and specifically targets the Real Estate Services industry, positioning itself as a specialized player in the urban property management landscape. According to available financial data, the company holds a market capitalization of $21.81M and reported a trailing twelve-month revenue of $51.69M, while employee count data is not disclosed. These valuation and revenue figures indicate that American Strategic Investment Co. occupies a niche position within the market, reflecting a capitalization level typical of mid-cap real estate firms that prioritize asset ownership over broad-scale operational staffing.
财务健康
The company reported a revenue of $51.69M over the trailing twelve months, yet this generated a net income of -$21,147,000, highlighting a significant disparity between top-line generation and bottom-line profitability. This substantial gap between revenue and net income reveals a highly leveraged cost structure where interest expenses and other operational costs consume nearly the entirety of the company's earnings before taxes. Despite the negative net income, the firm reported an EBITDA of $2.34M, suggesting that core operational cash generation remains positive before financing costs. Crucially, the company generated free cash flow of $63.02M, which provides a robust buffer for financial flexibility and debt servicing independent of accounting earnings. Profitability metrics further illustrate this structural challenge, with a gross margin of 24.7%, an operating margin of -10.0%, and a profit margin of -40.9%. The negative operating and profit margins indicate that while the physical assets generate revenue, the cost of capital and overhead significantly erode overall profitability. On the balance sheet, the company holds $3.35M in cash against total debt of $249.39M, resulting in a debt-to-equity ratio of 349.47, which signifies a highly leveraged financial position. Short-term liquidity is constrained by a current ratio of 1.10, indicating that current assets barely cover current liabilities, which is a tight margin for a leveraged real estate operator. Finally, return metrics show a return on equity of -25.8% and a return on assets of -1.4%, revealing that management has been unable to generate positive returns on the capital base or the asset portfolio in the current period.
估值评估
Valuation multiples for American Strategic Investment Co. present a complex picture due to the company's earnings status, with a trailing P/E ratio listed as N/A because of the negative net income. However, the forward P/E stands at 5.83, which implies market expectations for future earnings normalization or recovery, contrasting sharply with the inability to calculate a trailing multiple. The price-to-book ratio is 0.30, indicating that the market values the company at roughly 30% of its book value, suggesting a significant discount to the underlying asset values recorded on the balance sheet. Alternative valuation metrics such as the price-to-sales ratio of 0.42 and the EV/EBITDA of 114.66 further highlight the premium required by the market given the high enterprise value relative to earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization. The stock price has fluctuated within a 52-week range between a low of $7.03 and a high of $16.30, trading currently within this established volatility band. The company exhibits a beta of 0.32, meaning its stock price volatility is significantly lower than the broader market, acting as a defensive position relative to standard equity benchmarks.
Growth & Income
Growth metrics for American Strategic Investment Co. show a revenue growth rate of -20.6% year-over-year, while earnings growth is not applicable due to the negative earnings baseline. The contraction in revenue suggests a challenging operating environment or specific asset-level performance issues, though the relationship between revenue decline and negative earnings implies that fixed costs and debt service are outpacing revenue reductions. The company does not pay a dividend, evidenced by a dividend yield of N/A and a payout ratio of 0.0%, which indicates a capital allocation strategy focused on retaining cash to service debt or maintain operations rather than distributing income to shareholders. Consequently, the company reinvests its free cash flow into the existing real estate portfolio rather than paying out returns. Overall, the growth and income profile reflects a distressed asset scenario where capital preservation and debt management take precedence over income distribution or revenue expansion in the short term.
