公司概述

BWX Technologies, Inc. operates as a specialized manufacturer and seller of nuclear components across the United States, Canada, and international markets, serving primarily within the aerospace and defense sector. This industry positioning reflects a high-barrier-to-entry environment where precision engineering for naval nuclear components, reactors, and nuclear fuel is critical for national security and energy infrastructure. The company demonstrates significant scale with a total market capitalization of $21.10B, an annual trailing twelve-month revenue of $3.20B, and an operational workforce comprising 10,400 employees. These valuation and revenue figures indicate that BWXT maintains a substantial footprint in the industrials sector, commanding a premium market cap that suggests strong institutional confidence in its specialized technology and long-term contracts.

财务健康

The company reported a trailing twelve-month revenue of $3.20B, generating a net income of $328.94M and an EBITDA of $447.50M, revealing a cost structure where operating expenses and taxes consume a significant portion of top-line growth before reaching the bottom line. Free cash flow stood at $132.61M, which provides the company with essential financial flexibility to fund capital expenditures, service its debt obligations, and potentially pursue strategic acquisitions without relying solely on external financing. Profitability analysis shows a gross margin of 22.9%, an operating margin of 9.3%, and a profit margin of 10.3%, indicating that the company maintains healthy pricing power but faces substantial cost pressures typical of complex defense manufacturing. On the balance sheet, total cash of $499.78M is held against total debt of $2.06B, resulting in a debt-to-equity ratio of 167.09%, which suggests a leveraged capital structure rather than a conservative one. Short-term liquidity is supported by a current ratio of 2.32, indicating that the company possesses more than twice the current assets necessary to cover its current liabilities. Return on equity stands at 28.5% while return on assets is 5.9%, demonstrating that management is highly effective at generating returns for shareholders relative to equity invested, though the lower ROA reflects the impact of the company's high debt load on asset utilization metrics.

估值评估

Valuation metrics reveal a trailing P/E ratio of 64.51 compared to a forward P/E of 44.52, implying that the market expects a significant acceleration in earnings growth to justify the current high multiple. The price-to-book ratio is 17.08, which indicates a substantial market premium over the company's book value, reflecting the intangible value of its nuclear technology and specialized contracts. Alternative valuation measures include a price-to-sales ratio of 6.60 and an EV/EBITDA of 50.55, suggesting that investors are pricing the stock based on future growth expectations rather than current asset values. The stock has traded between a 52-week high of $237.87 and a 52-week low of $91.70, and without the current price explicitly listed in the provided facts, the valuation context relies on the beta and historical range to assess relative positioning. The beta value of 0.79 indicates that the stock exhibits lower price volatility relative to the broader market, moving less sharply than the overall index during periods of market fluctuation.

Growth & Income

Revenue growth over the last year was 18.7%, while earnings growth reached 31.1%, indicating that earnings are growing significantly faster than revenue, which implies improving operational leverage and margin expansion. As a dividend payer, the company offers a dividend yield of 0.4% with a payout ratio of 27.9%, a low ratio that suggests the dividend is highly sustainable given the company's robust earnings growth and ability to retain most profits for reinvestment. The low payout ratio further confirms that the company prioritizes reinvesting earnings into growth initiatives rather than distributing maximum cash to shareholders immediately. Overall, the growth and income profile is characterized by double-digit earnings expansion, a conservative yet sustainable dividend policy, and a valuation that prices in substantial future performance.
