Analyse

Bedrijfsoverzicht

Texas Pacific Land Corporation is primarily engaged in the comprehensive management of land and resources, alongside the provision of water services and operations, with a specific focus on managing surface acres and oil and gas royalty interests within the Permian Basin. The company operates within the Energy sector, specifically classified under the Oil & Gas E&P industry, a classification that signifies its involvement in the exploration and production phase of the hydrocarbon value chain. As of the latest reported data, the entity holds a market capitalization of $28.26B and generated annual revenue totaling $798.19M, employing a workforce of 114 individuals to execute its strategic initiatives. These financial figures indicate a substantial market presence, where the market cap reflects the total market value of the company's outstanding shares and the revenue scale demonstrates significant operational output relative to the size of its specialized workforce.

Financiële gezondheid

The company reported revenue of $798.19M, net income of $481.38M, and EBITDA of $655.57M for the trailing twelve months. The substantial gap between the revenue figure and the net income reveals a highly efficient cost structure, as the company retains a significant portion of its top-line revenue as bottom-line profit after covering all operating expenses, taxes, and interest. However, the free cash flow stands at $-82,232,000, which indicates a temporary cash outflow that may stem from capital expenditures required to sustain production or develop new assets, thereby limiting immediate financial flexibility for external growth initiatives. Profitability is further underscored by impressive margins: a gross margin of 93.3%, an operating margin of 70.6%, and a profit margin of 60.3%, all of which suggest that the business model generates high value relative to sales costs and operational overhead. Regarding liquidity and leverage, the company holds $144.81M in cash against a debt load of $17.79M, resulting in a debt-to-equity ratio of 1.22 that characterizes the balance sheet as moderately leveraged rather than highly conservative. Short-term liquidity is robust, evidenced by a current ratio of 4.40, which implies that the company possesses more than four times the current assets necessary to cover its short-term liabilities. Management effectiveness is highlighted by a Return on Equity of 37.2% and a Return on Assets of 25.8%, metrics that demonstrate the ability to generate high returns on the capital invested by shareholders and the total asset base.

Waarderingsbeoordeling

Valuation metrics show a trailing P/E ratio of 58.82 compared to a forward P/E of 5.61, a significant disparity that implies the market is pricing in a substantial expected expansion in future earnings relative to current profitability levels. The price-to-book ratio is recorded at 19.37, indicating that the market values the company at nearly twenty times its net asset value, which often reflects a premium for intangible assets like land rights and royalty streams that are not fully captured on the balance sheet. Alternative valuation multiples provide further context, with a price-to-sales ratio of 35.41 and an EV/EBITDA of 42.92, suggesting that the market values the company's revenue generation and operating earnings at a high multiple compared to industry peers. Price volatility is contextualized by a 52-week high of $547.20 and a 52-week low of $269.23, with the current trading price situated within this wide historical range, reflecting recent market fluctuations. The stock exhibits a beta of 0.77, which indicates that the stock's price movements are generally less volatile than the broader market, suggesting a lower sensitivity to general market swings compared to the average equity.

Growth & Income

Growth dynamics are characterized by a revenue growth rate of 13.9% year-over-year and an earnings growth rate of 4.3% year-over-year, indicating that revenue is expanding at a significantly faster pace than net earnings, which may suggest rising operational costs or specific accounting adjustments impacting the bottom line. The company pays a dividend with a yield of 0.6% and maintains a payout ratio of 30.6%, a level that suggests the dividend is currently sustainable given the earnings generated, as the payout consumes only a fraction of the available profit. The relatively low payout ratio allows the company to retain the majority of its earnings for reinvestment into the Permian Basin operations or to build cash reserves for future capital needs. Overall, the company presents a profile of moderate income generation through dividends combined with double-digit revenue expansion, though earnings growth currently lags behind top-line growth.
