企業概要

The Travelers Companies, Inc. is a prominent entity within the financial services sector, specifically operating in the property and casualty insurance industry across the United States, Canada, and international markets. Through its extensive network of subsidiaries, the firm delivers a comprehensive array of commercial and personal insurance products and services tailored for businesses, government units, associations, and individual consumers. This major player commands a significant market capitalization of $65.22B and generates annual revenue totaling $48.83B, while employing a substantial workforce of 34,000 individuals. The scale indicated by these valuation and revenue metrics underscores the company's established position as a large-cap institution with deep market penetration, reflecting its capacity to manage substantial risk exposures and service a vast customer base.

財務健全性

The company reported revenue of $48.83B and net income of $6.24B over the trailing twelve months, with EBITDA reaching $8.90B, revealing a cost structure where operating expenses and claims adjust the gross revenue significantly before arriving at the bottom line. The firm maintains robust financial flexibility supported by free cash flow of $12.10B, which provides ample liquidity for operational needs, debt servicing, and potential strategic initiatives without relying heavily on external financing. Profitability analysis shows a gross margin of 29.4%, an operating margin of 25.9%, and a profit margin of 12.9%, indicating that the business retains a healthy portion of revenue after covering direct costs and operating overheads. Regarding leverage, the balance sheet holds $6.43B in cash against $9.51B in debt, resulting in a debt-to-equity ratio of 28.92, which suggests a leveraged position typical for insurers but requiring careful capital management. Short-term liquidity is indicated by a current ratio of 0.36, a metric that warrants attention as it suggests current liabilities exceed current assets, a common characteristic in insurance balance sheets due to the long-tail nature of liability claims. Management effectiveness is highlighted by a return on equity of 20.7% and a return on assets of 3.7%, demonstrating that the company generates substantial returns on shareholder capital relative to the total asset base.

バリュエーション評価

Valuation metrics indicate a trailing P/E ratio of 10.99 and a forward P/E of 10.63, implying that the market expects earnings growth that will narrow the gap between current and forward multiples. The price-to-book ratio stands at 1.99, suggesting that the market values the company at a slight premium over its book value, reflecting intangible assets and brand strength within the insurance sector. Alternative valuation measures include a price-to-sales ratio of 1.34 and an EV/EBITDA of 7.67, which provide context for assessing the stock's price relative to its sales generation and enterprise earnings power. The stock has traded within a 52-week range of $230.47 to $313.12, meaning the current price position relative to this historical band depends on the specific trading day but generally reflects a consolidation phase after the low. The beta of 0.52 indicates that the stock's price volatility is significantly lower than that of the broader market, offering a more defensive characteristic during periods of market fluctuation.

Growth & Income

Recent performance data shows revenue growth of 3.5% year-over-year alongside earnings growth of 23.4% year-over-year, indicating that earnings are expanding at a much faster pace than revenue, likely driven by favorable investment returns or expense management. As a dividend-paying entity, the company offers a dividend yield of 1.5% with a payout ratio of 15.9%, a low ratio that suggests high sustainability and significant room to increase payouts as earnings continue to grow. The modest payout ratio allows the firm to retain a majority of its earnings for capital deployment and growth initiatives rather than distributing them entirely to shareholders. Overall, the profile combines steady revenue expansion with accelerated earnings growth and a conservative, sustainable dividend policy, positioning the asset within a defensive yet income-generating segment of the financial services landscape.
