分析

企業概要

CNX Resources Corporation is an independent natural gas and midstream enterprise focused on the acquisition, exploration, development, and production of natural gas properties located within the Appalachian Basin. The corporation operates through two primary business segments, specifically targeting shale formations and coalbed methane (CBM) reserves to generate pipeline products. This enterprise operates within the Energy sector and the Oil & Gas E&P industry, positioning it as a key player in the upstream extraction value chain. With a market capitalization of $5.53B and an annual revenue of $2.07B, the company demonstrates significant scale within the commodity market. Furthermore, employing a workforce of 390 individuals, the organization's substantial revenue base relative to its capitalization suggests a mature operational footprint capable of generating robust cash flows while maintaining a lean organizational structure typical of efficient resource extraction firms.

財務健全性

The company reported a trailing twelve-month revenue of $2.07B, with net income reaching $633.16M and EBITDA standing at $1.46B. The substantial disparity between the $2.07B in revenue and the $633.16M in net income highlights a highly efficient cost structure where operating expenses and taxes consume approximately 69.3% of total sales, leaving a significant profit pool. Free cash flow generation of $549.84M indicates strong liquidity and provides the management team with considerable financial flexibility to service obligations or fund capital expenditures without relying on external financing. Profitability metrics reveal a gross margin of 73.1%, an operating margin of 57.9%, and a profit margin of 30.7%, which collectively signify that the business model retains a high proportion of revenue after covering direct costs and overheads. Regarding balance sheet leverage, total cash holdings of $779,000 are markedly lower than total debt of $2.60B, resulting in a debt-to-equity ratio of 60.06% that characterizes a leveraged capital structure common in capital-intensive resource sectors. However, the current ratio of 0.44 suggests a tight liquidity position where current assets do not fully cover current liabilities, requiring careful management of working capital cycles. Return on equity stands at 15.0% while return on assets is 6.3%, metrics that indicate management is effectively utilizing shareholders' equity and the asset base to generate returns, though the ROA reflects the inherent capital intensity of the oil and gas industry.

バリュエーション評価

Valuation multiples show a trailing P/E ratio of 9.75 compared to a forward P/E of 9.32, implying that the market expects earnings to grow slightly in the coming year to justify the valuation compression. The price-to-book ratio is recorded at 1.28, indicating that the stock trades at a modest premium of 28% over its tangible book value, reflecting the value of intangible assets or growth prospects in the shale sector. Alternative valuation metrics such as the price-to-sales ratio of 2.68 and the EV/EBITDA of 5.56 provide context that the company is priced conservatively relative to its sales volume and unlevered earnings power. Historical price volatility is bounded by a 52-week high of $43.62 and a 52-week low of $27.68, meaning the current trading price sits approximately 21.8% below the recent 52-week high, suggesting potential downside from the peak but significant distance from the trough. The beta of 0.65 demonstrates that the stock price exhibits lower volatility relative to the broader market, offering a degree of stability often sought by investors in defensive sectors despite the cyclical nature of the energy industry.

Growth & Income

Revenue growth over the last year stands at 41.2%, while earnings growth data is not available for the current period, preventing a direct comparison of earnings acceleration against top-line expansion. In the absence of reported earnings growth figures, analysts must rely on revenue expansion as the primary indicator of business momentum within the Appalachian Basin segment. As a non-dividend payer, the company currently maintains a dividend yield of N/A and a payout ratio of 0.0%, indicating that all net income is retained within the business to fund exploration activities and debt reduction rather than being distributed to shareholders. The overall growth and income profile is characterized by strong top-line expansion driven by operational leverage in the shale and CBM segments, coupled with a capital allocation strategy focused on reinvestment and balance sheet optimization rather than income distribution.
