公司概述

Southern Copper Corporation operates as a comprehensive mining enterprise engaged in the exploration, mining, milling, flotation, smelting, and refining of copper and other minerals across Mexico, the United States, Peru, Brazil, Chile, and other American nations. The company functions within the Basic Materials sector, specifically the Copper industry, which positions it as a critical supplier of essential industrial commodities required for global infrastructure and energy transition projects. As of the latest data, Southern Copper Corporation holds a market capitalization of $154.61 billion and generates annual revenue of $13.42 billion, employing a workforce of 16,617 individuals across its extensive operational footprint. These valuation metrics and revenue figures indicate that the company commands a dominant position in the global copper supply chain, reflecting its substantial asset base, significant operational scale, and the high market confidence placed in its ability to generate cash flows from mineral extraction and processing activities.

财务健康

The company reported a total revenue of $13.42 billion and net income of $4.33 billion over the trailing twelve months, supported by an EBITDA of $7.90 billion. The substantial difference between the $13.42 billion revenue and the $4.33 billion net income reveals a robust cost structure characterized by high operating leverage and efficient control of production expenses before interest and taxes. Free cash flow stands at $3.34 billion, a figure that underscores the company's strong financial flexibility to fund capital expenditures, service debt obligations, or pursue strategic acquisitions without compromising liquidity. The gross margin is 60.9%, indicating high pricing power and efficient conversion of ore into finished metal; the operating margin of 54.5% further demonstrates effective control over administrative and logistical costs, while the profit margin of 32.3% reflects the company's exceptional ability to convert sales into bottom-line earnings. On the liability side, the company holds $4.91 billion in cash against $7.41 billion in total debt, resulting in a debt-to-equity ratio of 66.76% which suggests a balanced approach to leverage rather than an overly conservative or excessively risky stance. The current ratio of 3.89 indicates a highly liquid balance sheet, as current assets are nearly four times current liabilities, providing a significant buffer against short-term obligations. Return on Equity of 42.7% and Return on Assets of 21.8% reveal that management is exceptionally effective at deploying capital to generate returns, maximizing shareholder value relative to the equity invested and the total asset base utilized.

估值评估

The trailing twelve-month P/E ratio is 35.99, while the forward P/E ratio is 32.93; the lower forward multiple implies that the market expects earnings growth to accelerate in the coming year, thereby reducing the multiple on an absolute basis. The price-to-book ratio stands at 14.01, indicating that the market values the company at a significant premium over its net asset book value, which is typical for resource-rich companies with valuable, long-lived mining assets. Alternative valuation metrics include a price-to-sales ratio of 11.52 and an EV/EBITDA of 19.89, suggesting that investors are willing to pay a premium for revenue and earnings power that reflects the company's monopoly-like characteristics in certain regions. The stock has a 52-week high of $223.89 and a 52-week low of $72.28, meaning the current trading price fluctuates within a range that captures significant volatility relative to its recent performance extremes. The beta value of 1.17 indicates that the stock price is 17% more volatile than the broader market, reflecting the heightened sensitivity of copper prices and geopolitical factors affecting mining operations.

Growth & Income

Revenue growth year-over-year stands at 39.0%, while earnings growth year-over-year is 60.4%, demonstrating that earnings are expanding at a significantly faster pace than revenue, which implies improving operational efficiency or favorable pricing dynamics. For dividend payers, Southern Copper Corporation offers a dividend yield of 2.1% with a payout ratio of 58.4%, indicating that the dividend is sustainable as it is funded by well over half of the reported earnings. Given the substantial free cash flow and earnings growth, the company maintains the capacity to continue paying dividends while retaining sufficient earnings to support its capital-intensive mining operations. The overall growth and income profile combines robust double-digit earnings expansion with a moderate but consistent dividend yield, positioning the asset as a hybrid of growth and income characteristics within the basic materials sector.
