公司概述
Eagle Materials Inc. operates as a manufacturer and distributor of heavy construction products and light building materials across the United States market. The company functions within the Basic Materials sector, specifically targeting the Building Materials industry, which provides essential inputs for infrastructure and residential development projects. On a significant scale, the entity employs approximately 2,500 individuals and maintains a market capitalization of $6.33B with an annual revenue of $2.30B. These valuation and revenue figures indicate that Eagle Materials Inc. holds a substantial position within the domestic building materials landscape, reflecting a robust operational footprint that supports its multi-segment business model including cement, gypsum wallboard, and recycled paperboard operations.
财务健康
The company reported a trailing twelve-month revenue of $2.30B accompanied by a net income of $430.13M and an EBITDA of $731.61M. The substantial gap between the $2.30B revenue and the $430.13M net income reveals a cost structure where non-operating expenses, taxes, and interest charges consume approximately 81.3% of gross sales before reaching the bottom line. Eagle Materials Inc. generated free cash flow of $156.24M, which signifies a moderate level of financial flexibility to fund operations without relying solely on external financing. Profitability analysis shows a gross margin of 28.3%, an operating margin of 24.6%, and a profit margin of 18.7%, indicating that the company retains roughly 18.7 cents for every dollar of revenue after all costs. In terms of leverage, the balance sheet shows total cash of $419.00M against total debt of $1.80B, resulting in a debt-to-equity ratio of 120.57 which suggests a leveraged capital structure typical for capital-intensive manufacturing. Liquidity is robust with a current ratio of 4.27, indicating that current assets are more than four times the value of current liabilities. Return metrics demonstrate a return on equity of 28.8% and a return on assets of 10.3%, revealing that management generates high returns on shareholder equity while maintaining moderate efficiency relative to the total asset base.
估值评估
Valuation multiples show a P/E Ratio (TTM) of 14.90 and a forward P/E of 15.47, implying that the market expects earnings to grow slightly or remain stable given the minimal increase in the forward multiple. The price-to-book ratio stands at 4.17, indicating that the market values the company at more than four times its net asset book value, reflecting a premium assigned to its brand, location, and asset quality. Alternative valuation metrics include a price-to-sales ratio of 2.75 and an EV/EBITDA of 10.37, suggesting that the company is priced at a moderate multiple relative to its sales and enterprise value-adjusted earnings. Price action over the last year has seen the stock trade between a 52-week high of $243.64 and a 52-week low of $171.99. Without the current share price explicitly listed in the provided facts, the exact trading percentage relative to this range cannot be calculated, but the wide spread between the high and low indicates significant intrayear volatility. The beta value of 1.39 signifies that the stock exhibits higher price volatility than the broader market, moving approximately 39% more than the market index during periods of fluctuation.
Growth & Income
Revenue growth for the year-over-year period was -0.4% while earnings growth declined by -9.6%, indicating that earnings are contracting faster than revenue, likely due to margin compression or one-time costs not fully captured in top-line revenue. Regarding income distribution, the company offers a dividend yield of 0.5% with a payout ratio of 7.6%. This extremely low payout ratio suggests that the company retains the vast majority of its earnings, as the small payout is easily sustainable even with the recent earnings decline. Given the low payout ratio and negative earnings growth, the company primarily reinvests earnings into operational growth, capital expenditures, or debt reduction rather than distributing substantial dividends. The overall growth and income profile characterizes Eagle Materials Inc. as a mature, low-growth utility-like asset within the building materials sector that offers minimal income support and faces slight top-line contraction.
