公司概述

Boston Scientific Corporation is a global leader that develops, manufactures, and markets medical devices designed for use across various interventional medical specialties. The company operates within the Healthcare sector, specifically focusing on the Medical Devices industry, which positions it as a critical provider of technology for diagnosing and treating complex patient conditions. This substantial enterprise employs approximately 59,000 individuals and holds a market capitalization of $91.07 billion. With annual revenue reaching $20.07 billion, these valuation metrics indicate that the market assigns a premium to the company's stable cash flows and dominant position in the specialized medical device supply chain.

财务健康

The company reported a trailing twelve-month revenue of $20.07 billion, generating a net income of $2.90 billion and an EBITDA of $5.34 billion during the same period. The significant gap between the revenue figure and the net income reveals a robust cost structure where operating expenses and taxes consume approximately 85.6% of total sales, yet still allow for substantial profitability. Free cash flow stands at $3.24 billion, which provides the organization with significant financial flexibility to fund research, development, and potential acquisitions without relying heavily on external capital markets. Gross margin is recorded at 68.8%, indicating high pricing power and efficient manufacturing costs typical of the medical technology sector. Operating margin sits at 19.7%, while profit margin is 14.4%, collectively demonstrating that the company retains a healthy portion of revenue after covering all operational and tax obligations. On the balance sheet, total cash balances of $1.96 billion are contrasted against total debt of $11.97 billion, resulting in a debt-to-equity ratio of 48.92. This leverage ratio suggests the company utilizes a moderate level of debt financing relative to its equity base, balancing the tax benefits of interest deductions against financial risk. The current ratio is 1.62, which indicates a comfortable short-term liquidity position where current assets exceed current liabilities by a wide margin. Return on equity is 12.4% and return on assets is 6.0%, metrics that reveal management's effectiveness in generating returns from shareholders' capital and the total asset base, respectively.

估值评估

The trailing twelve-month P/E ratio is 31.59, while the forward P/E is significantly lower at 15.71. This substantial disparity between the two metrics implies that the market expects a sharp acceleration in earnings growth or a significant drop in the current multiple, suggesting the stock is priced based on future expectations rather than current performance. The price-to-book ratio stands at 3.75, indicating that the market values the company at nearly four times its book value, which reflects a premium assigned to its intangible assets, brand strength, and growth prospects. Alternative valuation metrics include a price-to-sales ratio of 4.54 and an EV/EBITDA of 18.95, figures that suggest investors are willing to pay a high multiple for sales and operating cash generation relative to peer averages. The 52-week high is $109.50 and the 52-week low is $60.59, providing a clear range of volatility over the past year. The stock's position relative to this historical range must be interpreted in conjunction with the current market price to understand investor sentiment regarding its upside or downside potential. The beta is 0.78, which means the stock's price volatility is significantly lower than the broader market, suggesting it may act as a defensive holding during periods of market turbulence.

Growth & Income

Revenue growth year-over-year is 15.9%, while earnings growth year-over-year is 18.5%, indicating that profitability is expanding at a faster rate than top-line sales. This divergence implies that the company is likely benefiting from operational leverage, margin expansion, or a shift in its product mix toward higher-margin items. Regarding income distributions, the dividend yield is N/A and the payout ratio is 0.0%, which indicates that the company does not currently distribute cash to shareholders via dividends. Instead, the full earnings are retained and reinvested into the business to fund growth initiatives, R&D, and capital expenditures. The overall growth and income profile is characterized by strong double-digit revenue and earnings expansion supported by a capital-light approach that prioritizes reinvestment over shareholder payouts.
