회사 개요

AT&T Inc. is a global telecommunications and technology services provider that delivers wireless voice, data communications, and sells devices such as handsets and wireless computing equipment through its Communications and Latin America segments. The company operates within the Communication Services sector, specifically the Telecom Services industry, where it competes to provide essential connectivity infrastructure and consumer services across international markets. Its current market capitalization stands at $191.47B, supported by an annual revenue of $125.65B and an employee base of 133,030 individuals. These valuation and revenue figures indicate that AT&T maintains a massive operational scale, positioning it as a dominant entity in the telecommunications landscape with significant assets and a vast workforce dedicated to network maintenance and service delivery.

재무 건전성

The company reported a revenue of $125.65B for the trailing twelve months, generating net income of $21.89B and an EBITDA of $44.24B, revealing a cost structure where operating expenses consume a substantial portion of top-line growth before reaching the bottom line. While the revenue and net income gap highlights the impact of taxes, interest, and non-operating costs, the EBITDA figure of $44.24B underscores the strong cash-generating potential of the core business operations prior to financing and accounting adjustments. Free cash flow for the period was $12.59B, which provides the company with significant financial flexibility to fund capital expenditures, manage its debt obligations, or return capital to shareholders without relying on external financing. The gross margin stands at 59.6%, indicating high revenue retention after the direct cost of goods sold, while the operating margin of 18.4% and profit margin of 17.5% reflect the company's ability to cover overhead and taxes effectively. On the balance sheet, the company holds $18.23B in cash against $159.56B in total debt, resulting in a debt-to-equity ratio of 124.18, which characterizes a highly leveraged financial structure typical for capital-intensive utility and telecom firms. The current ratio is 0.91, suggesting that short-term current assets are slightly below current liabilities, indicating a need for careful management of working capital to meet immediate obligations. Return on equity is 18.8% and return on assets is 4.1%, metrics that demonstrate management's effectiveness in generating high returns on shareholder capital while utilizing a large asset base to produce modest returns on total assets.

밸류에이션 평가

The trailing twelve-month P/E ratio is 9.00, whereas the forward P/E is 10.75, implying that the market expects a slight expansion in earnings growth that would justify a higher multiple in the coming year. The price-to-book ratio is 1.74, indicating that the market values the company's equity at a 74% premium over its tangible book value, reflecting intangible assets like spectrum licenses and brand value. Alternative valuation metrics such as the price-to-sales ratio of 1.52 and the EV/EBITDA of 7.93 suggest the company is trading at a reasonable multiple relative to its sales and enterprise value-adjusted earnings, offering a valuation perspective distinct from the traditional P/E metric. The stock has traded between a 52-week low of $22.95 and a 52-week high of $29.79, placing the current trading range within the upper half of its annual historical volatility band relative to these benchmarks. With a beta of 0.54, the stock exhibits lower price volatility compared to the broader market, moving less than half as much as the market index in response to general economic shifts, which appeals to risk-averse investors seeking stability.

Growth & Income

Revenue growth year-over-year is 3.6%, while earnings growth year-over-year is -5.6%, indicating that earnings are currently declining faster than revenue, which implies that cost pressures or margin compression are outpacing top-line expansion in the short term. As a dividend payer, the company offers a dividend yield of 4.1% with a payout ratio of 27.4%, a conservative payout level that suggests the dividend is highly sustainable given the company's robust free cash flow generation relative to its earnings. Since the earnings growth is negative, the payout ratio remains low at 27.4%, ensuring that the company retains a significant majority of its earnings to cover its substantial debt load and fund future growth initiatives rather than paying out all available profits. Overall, AT&T presents a profile characterized by stable, albeit modest, revenue growth coupled with a high-yield income stream that is protected by a conservative payout policy despite current earnings headwinds.
