회사 개요

The St. Joe Company operates as a comprehensive real estate development, asset management, and operating entity within the United States, executing its strategy across three distinct segments: Residential, Hospitality, and Commercial. The firm functions within the broader Real Estate sector, specifically categorized under the Real Estate - Diversified industry, which implies a diversified portfolio of assets rather than a focus on a single property type like pure-play residential developers or REITs. In terms of scale, the company maintains a market capitalization of $3.90B and employs a workforce of 906 individuals to support its operations. The combination of a $3.90B market cap and $513.25M in annual revenue positions the company as a mid-cap player with significant revenue generation capabilities relative to its employee base, suggesting efficient operational leverage within the diversified real estate landscape.

재무 건전성

The company reported a Total Revenue of $513.25M over the trailing twelve months, generating $115.63M in Net Income and $193.70M in EBITDA. The substantial gap between the $513.25M revenue and the $115.63M net income reveals a cost structure where operating expenses, including cost of goods sold, depreciation, and general administrative costs, absorb nearly 77.5% of gross revenue before arriving at the bottom line. Free Cash Flow stands at $116.64M, indicating that after capital expenditures and working capital adjustments, the company retains significant cash liquidity that can be utilized for debt servicing, potential acquisitions, or balance sheet strengthening. The margin profile shows a Gross Margin of 43.1%, an Operating Margin of 30.6%, and a Profit Margin of 22.5%, where the progression from gross to operating to profit margin highlights the impact of overhead expenses and taxes on the final profitability of each dollar earned. On the balance sheet, the company holds $129.61M in cash against $572.74M in total debt, resulting in a Debt to Equity ratio of 73.84, which suggests a leveraged capital structure typical of real estate development firms that utilize financing to amplify returns. The Current Ratio is calculated at 4.09, a figure that indicates robust short-term liquidity and the ability to cover current liabilities more than four times over with available current assets. Return on Equity is 15.3% while Return on Assets is 6.0%, metrics that reveal management's effectiveness in generating returns on shareholder equity is significantly higher than the returns generated on the total asset base, reflecting the leverage effect inherent in the company's capital structure.

밸류에이션 평가

The valuation metrics indicate a Trailing P/E ratio of 34.10 and a Forward P/E of 616.82. The stark disparity between the trailing and forward P/E ratios implies that the market is pricing in extremely high expected earnings growth or that the current earnings base is exceptionally low compared to future projections, potentially signaling a turnaround scenario or a period of low current profitability relative to expected future performance. The Price to Book ratio is 5.09, indicating that the stock trades at a significant premium of over five times its net asset value, which suggests the market values the company's brand, management capabilities, and intangible assets far above the liquidation value of its tangible assets. Alternative valuation measures include a Price to Sales ratio of 7.61 and an EV/EBITDA of 22.49, which together suggest that investors are willing to pay a high multiple for the company's sales and earnings power, reflecting confidence in future cash flow generation despite the elevated price levels. The 52-week trading range spans from a low of $40.19 to a high of $73.54, providing a volatility context for the current share price movement within the year. The stock exhibits a Beta of 1.39, meaning that the stock price is expected to be 39% more volatile than the broader market, amplifying both potential gains and losses during periods of market fluctuation.

Growth & Income

Recent performance data shows a Revenue Growth year-over-year of 23.5% and an Earnings Growth year-over-year of 59.4%. The earnings growth rate of 59.4% is substantially faster than the revenue growth rate of 23.5%, which implies improved operational efficiency, cost control, or a favorable mix shift within the business segments that allows profitability to expand at a much quicker pace than top-line sales. The company distributes a Dividend Yield of 0.9% to shareholders, coupled with a Payout Ratio of 29.1%. Given the current earnings growth rate and the relatively low payout ratio of 29.1%, the dividend appears sustainable as the company retains a large majority of its earnings to fund internal growth initiatives and strengthen the balance sheet rather than distributing them all. This conservative payout approach allows the firm to maintain financial flexibility while still providing income to shareholders who prefer regular distributions. Overall, the company presents a profile characterized by robust earnings acceleration that outpaces revenue expansion, supported by a sustainable dividend policy that aligns with a strategy of reinvesting in the core business of residential, hospitality, and commercial real estate development.
