公司概述

Olin Corporation operates as a manufacturer and distributor of chemical products with a global footprint spanning the United States, Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, India, Latin America, and Canada. The company is structured within the Basic Materials sector, specifically the Chemicals industry, which positions it to capitalize on demand for essential industrial inputs across diverse geographic markets. Its operational scale is defined by a market capitalization of $3.30B, annual revenue of $6.78B, and a workforce comprising 7849 employees. These valuation and revenue figures indicate that Olin functions as a mid-to-large-cap entity with significant production capacity, yet the market cap relative to its revenue suggests a valuation that does not fully reflect the breadth of its international distribution network.

财务健康

The company reported a trailing twelve-month revenue of $6.78B alongside a net income loss of -$100,500,000 and an EBITDA of $654.90M, revealing a cost structure where non-operating expenses or interest costs significantly erode bottom-line profitability despite positive operating cash generation. While the net income is negative, the business maintains substantial financial flexibility with free cash flow reaching $373.02M, which provides liquidity to service debt obligations and fund capital expenditures without relying on external financing. Profitability analysis shows a gross margin of 7.4%, an operating margin of -3.5%, and a profit margin of -1.5%, indicating that while the core production efficiency retains value, high leverage or interest burdens are preventing the conversion of operating earnings into net income. The balance sheet reflects a leveraged position with total debt of $3.14B compared to cash holdings of $167.60M, resulting in a debt-to-equity ratio of 167.83 that highlights significant reliance on borrowed capital. Short-term liquidity is assessed as adequate but tight, evidenced by a current ratio of 1.21, meaning current assets cover current liabilities with minimal surplus. Return on equity stands at -5.1% while return on assets is 1.1%, suggesting that management effectiveness is currently challenged by the inability to generate net profits from the equity base, even though asset utilization yields a positive return.

估值评估

Valuation metrics for Olin show a trailing P/E ratio listed as N/A due to the lack of recent net income, whereas the forward P/E stands at 32.43, implying that the market prices in a significant anticipated recovery in earnings to justify the current share price. The price-to-book ratio is 1.79, indicating that the market assigns a premium of 79% over the company's book value, which may reflect expectations of future asset appreciation or brand value despite current earnings losses. Alternative valuation measures such as a price-to-sales ratio of 0.49 and an EV/EBITDA of 9.62 suggest that the stock is priced conservatively relative to its sales volume and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization. The stock has traded within a range defined by a 52-week high of $29.19 and a 52-week low of $17.66, placing the current market price within this historical band. The beta value of 1.51 indicates that the stock exhibits price volatility that is 51% higher than the broader market, making it a more aggressive investment relative to large-cap benchmarks.

Growth & Income

Revenue growth over the last year was -0.4%, while earnings growth is listed as N/A due to the negative net income period, implying that the company is currently in a contraction or turnaround phase rather than a period of expansion. As a dividend payer, Olin offers a dividend yield of 2.8% with a payout ratio of 173.9%, a metric that highlights an unsustainable distribution of cash relative to reported earnings, as the payout exceeds the net income generated in the trailing twelve months. The high payout ratio suggests that the company is utilizing free cash flow or reserves to maintain dividends rather than distributing actual earnings, which creates a potential risk if cash generation declines. The overall growth and income profile is characterized by declining revenue, volatile earnings, and a dividend yield that relies heavily on cash flow rather than profitable earnings retention.
