公司概述
Forum Energy Technologies, Inc. functions as a specialized provider of downhole technology, designing, manufacturing, and supplying critical products for the oil, natural gas, defense, and renewable energy industries across the United States and international markets. The company operates within the Energy sector, specifically targeting the Oil & Gas Equipment & Services industry, where it delivers solutions through its two primary segments: Drilling and Completions, and Artificial Lift and Downhole. This entity maintains a significant operational footprint with an employee base of 1700, supporting its complex manufacturing and supply chain requirements. With a total market capitalization of $678.36M and annual revenue reaching $791.47M over the trailing twelve months, Forum Energy Technologies holds a valuation that reflects its position as a mid-sized player in the equipment and services space, indicating a substantial but not dominant scale relative to the broader energy service industry.
财务健康
The company reported a revenue of $791.47M for the trailing twelve months, yet this top-line figure contrasts sharply with a net income loss of $-9,660,000, revealing a cost structure where operating expenses or non-operating charges significantly erded pre-tax profits. Despite the net loss, the company generated an EBITDA of $52.89M, suggesting that core operational cash generation remains positive even before interest and taxes impact the bottom line. The business demonstrated strong financial flexibility by producing $78.45M in free cash flow, a metric that highlights the ability to fund operations and potentially reduce debt without relying solely on external financing. Profitability metrics show a gross margin of 27.7%, indicating healthy pricing power or cost control on the cost of goods sold, while an operating margin of 6.0% suggests efficient management of overheads, though the profit margin stands at -1.2% due to the net loss. On the balance sheet, the company holds $34.66M in cash against total debt of $231.67M, resulting in a debt-to-equity ratio of 79.57, which characterizes the capital structure as highly leveraged rather than conservative. Liquidity is supported by a current ratio of 2.17, indicating that current assets are more than double current liabilities and providing a comfortable buffer for short-term obligations. However, the return on equity is -3.2% and return on assets is 1.5%, metrics that reveal management has yet to generate returns sufficient to cover the cost of equity or significantly enhance asset value in the current period.
估值评估
Valuation multiples for Forum Energy Technologies include a trailing P/E ratio marked as N/A due to the net loss, while the forward P/E stands at 22.34, implying that the market anticipates a significant turnaround in earnings trajectory over the coming year. The price-to-book ratio is calculated at 2.28, indicating that the market values the company at more than double its book value, which may reflect intangible assets or future growth expectations despite current profitability challenges. Alternative valuation metrics such as the price-to-sales ratio of 0.86 and an EV/EBITDA of 16.47 provide context, suggesting the company trades at less than one dollar of revenue for every dollar of sales while commanding a premium relative to its EBITDA multiple. Price volatility over the past year is evident with a 52-week high of $63.58 and a 52-week low of $12.78, meaning the current implied price sits well below the historical peak, specifically trading at a level that suggests a correction from the yearly maximum. The beta value of 0.58 indicates that the stock's price volatility is less than 58% of the broader market's movement, positioning it as a lower-volatility asset relative to the general equity market during periods of fluctuation.
Growth & Income
Growth metrics show a revenue growth year-over-year of 0.6%, while earnings growth is listed as N/A given the negative net income, implying that earnings are currently contracting or absent rather than growing faster than the top line. As a non-dividend payer, the company reports a dividend yield of N/A and a payout ratio of 0.0%, which confirms that the firm retains all earnings and reinvests capital into operations rather than distributing income to shareholders. This retention strategy aligns with the need to address the negative net income and potentially service the substantial debt load before returning capital to investors. Overall, the growth and income profile presents a scenario of revenue stability with minimal top-line expansion and no current income distribution, focusing entirely on operational restructuring and debt management to restore profitability.
