公司概述
Alto Ingredients, Inc. functions as a specialized manufacturer and distributor within the United States, focusing on the production, distribution, and marketing of specialty alcohols, renewable fuel, and essential ingredients. This business model places the company firmly within the Basic Materials sector, specifically the Specialty Chemicals industry, where it leverages its three operational segments—Marketing and Distribution, Pekin Campus Production, and Western Production—to serve diverse industrial needs. The entity operates at a significant scale, with a market capitalization of $376.66 million and total annual revenue reaching $917.93 million, supported by an employee base of 390 individuals. These valuation and revenue figures indicate that Alto Ingredients maintains a substantial presence in the specialty chemical market, though its relatively modest revenue growth suggests a mature or cyclical operating environment typical for companies in this specific industrial niche.
财务健康
The company reported trailing twelve-month revenue of $917.93 million, with net income of $12.07 million and EBITDA of $32.92 million, revealing a distinct gap between gross earnings and bottom-line profit that underscores a cost structure heavily impacted by operating expenses. Free cash flow stands at -$7,551,500, indicating that current operational cash generation is insufficient to cover capital expenditures and working capital requirements, which limits immediate financial flexibility for expansion without external financing. Margins are compressed, with a gross margin of 3.8%, an operating margin of 3.6%, and a profit margin of 1.5%; these low percentages suggest high sensitivity to input cost fluctuations and intense competition within the specialty alcohol and renewable fuel sectors. On the balance sheet, cash holdings of $23.41 million are outweighed by total debt of $97.60 million, resulting in a debt-to-equity ratio of 39.80%, which characterizes the firm as moderately leveraged rather than conservative. Liquidity remains robust given a current ratio of 2.64, demonstrating that the company possesses more than double the current assets necessary to meet its short-term liabilities. Efficiency metrics show a return on equity of 5.7% and a return on assets of 1.2%, implying that management effectiveness in generating returns is modest, particularly when viewed through the lens of the low return on assets relative to the capital base employed.
估值评估
Valuation multiples reflect a disconnect between historical performance and future expectations, with a trailing P/E ratio of 30.44 contrasted sharply against a forward P/E of 12.82. This substantial difference implies that the market anticipates a significant turnaround in earnings, expecting future profitability to recover from current low levels to justify a much lower multiple. The price-to-book ratio of 1.54 indicates that the stock trades at a moderate premium over its book value, suggesting investors are pricing in some degree of intangible asset value or future growth potential despite current earnings constraints. Alternative metrics provide further context, with a price-to-sales ratio of 0.41 and an EV/EBITDA of 13.69; the low price-to-sales figure suggests the stock is valued cheaply relative to its revenue base, while the EV/EBITDA multiple aligns more closely with traditional industrial peers. Price action has been highly volatile, ranging between a 52-week low of $0.76 and a 52-week high of $5.06, creating a trading range that encompasses nearly seven times the spread between the extremes. The beta value of 0.06 is exceptionally low, indicating that the stock's price volatility is virtually uncorrelated with the broader market movements, behaving more like a utility or defensive asset than a typical cyclical industrial stock.
Growth & Income
Growth dynamics are characterized by a revenue decline of -1.9% year-over-year, while earnings growth is listed as N/A due to the minimal net income figure; this implies that earnings are not growing faster than revenue but rather are struggling to maintain absolute profitability levels amidst shrinking top-line sales. As a non-dividend payer, the company does not distribute a dividend yield, maintaining a payout ratio of 0.0%, which means all earnings are theoretically available for reinvestment into operations or debt reduction rather than shareholder distributions. The absence of a dividend program suggests a capital allocation strategy focused on preserving cash or funding internal projects rather than providing immediate income to investors. Overall, the growth and income profile presents a company in a transitional phase with negative revenue momentum and no current income distribution, requiring careful monitoring of operational improvements to reverse the recent contraction in sales volume.
