कंपनी का अवलोकन

Public Service Enterprise Group Incorporated operates primarily within the United States, providing essential electric and gas utility services alongside nuclear generation capabilities. The company is structured into two main segments: PSE&G, which manages the transmission and distribution of electricity and natural gas, and PSEG Power, which focuses on nuclear generation operations. This entity functions within the Utilities sector, specifically classified under the Regulated Electric industry, a classification that implies stable revenue streams derived from regulated rates rather than pure market competition. The organization employs a workforce of 13,189 individuals to support its extensive infrastructure and generation assets. With a market capitalization of $41.28B and annual revenue reaching $12.17B, the company demonstrates a substantial economic footprint that positions it as a significant player in the energy landscape. These valuation and revenue figures indicate a large-scale operation capable of sustaining long-term infrastructure investments while serving a broad customer base across multiple states.

वित्तीय स्वास्थ्य

The company reported total revenue of $12.17B for the trailing twelve months, generating a net income of $2.11B and an EBITDA of $4.50B. The significant disparity between the $12.17B revenue and the $2.11B net income highlights a substantial cost structure comprising operational expenses, taxes, and interest costs inherent to the utility business model. Free cash flow stands at -$105,000,000, indicating that capital expenditures for maintaining and upgrading grid infrastructure currently exceed the cash generated from operations, which is typical for regulated utilities in expansion or modernization phases. The gross margin is 34.8%, reflecting the pricing power and cost efficiencies in generating and selling electricity and gas. The operating margin of 18.1% and profit margin of 17.3% further illustrate the company's ability to cover operating expenses and taxes while retaining earnings for shareholders. Cash on hand is $132.00M, while total debt stands at $24.23B, resulting in a debt-to-equity ratio of 142.68, which suggests a highly leveraged balance sheet common in capital-intensive utility sectors. The current ratio is 0.80, indicating that current assets are slightly lower than current liabilities, which points to a reliance on long-term financing for short-term obligations or specific liquidity management strategies. Return on equity is 12.8% and return on assets is 3.4%, metrics that reveal management's effectiveness in generating returns relative to the capital invested and the total asset base, respectively.

मूल्यांकन आकलन

The trailing twelve-month P/E ratio is 19.60, while the forward P/E is 17.56, suggesting that the market expects earnings growth in the future that would justify a lower multiple on anticipated profits. The price-to-book ratio is 2.43, indicating that the market values the company at a significant premium over its net book value, reflecting the high quality of its regulated assets and monopoly-like characteristics. Alternative valuation metrics such as the price-to-sales ratio of 3.39 and an EV/EBITDA of 14.51 provide additional context, showing that the stock is valued relative to its sales scale and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization. The 52-week high is $91.26 and the 52-week low is $75.17, meaning the current price sits within this historical range, trading below the recent peak but above the yearly trough. The beta value is 0.60, which signifies that the stock price exhibits lower volatility relative to the broader market, making it a defensive holding that tends to move less than the overall index during market fluctuations.

Growth & Income

Revenue growth year-over-year is 18.3%, while earnings growth year-over-year is 10.5%, indicating that earnings are growing at a slower pace than revenue, which may suggest increasing cost pressures or margin compression despite top-line expansion. As a dividend payer, the company offers a dividend yield of 3.2% with a payout ratio of 59.7%, a level that appears sustainable given the consistent earnings growth and the regulated nature of the business that ensures steady cash flows. The payout ratio of 59.7% allows the company to return a significant portion of profits to shareholders while retaining enough earnings to fund its negative free cash flow and ongoing capital needs. Overall, the growth and income profile combines moderate earnings expansion with a robust dividend yield, catering to income-focused investors seeking stability in the utility sector.
