कंपनी का अवलोकन

EnerSys is a global provider of stored energy solutions designed specifically for industrial applications across various sectors. The company operates within the Industrials sector, focusing on the Electrical Equipment & Parts industry, which signifies its role in supplying critical infrastructure components. It employs a workforce of 10,858 individuals and holds a market capitalization of $7.00B, generating annual revenue of $3.74B. These valuation and revenue metrics indicate that EnerSys maintains a substantial operational scale, positioning it as a significant player with a tangible asset base supporting its extensive global distribution network for uninterruptible power systems and motive power technologies.

वित्तीय स्वास्थ्य

The company reported a total revenue of $3.74B over the trailing twelve months, with a corresponding net income of $312.80M and an EBITDA of $589.04M. The significant gap between the $3.74B revenue and the $312.80M net income reveals a substantial cost structure comprising operating expenses, taxes, and interest costs that consume approximately 81.6% of gross revenue before reaching the bottom line. EnerSys generated free cash flow of $409.94M, which demonstrates strong financial flexibility allowing for capital allocation toward operational needs or potential acquisitions without immediate reliance on external financing. The gross margin stands at 29.8%, reflecting the efficiency of production costs relative to sales, while the operating margin of 14.1% and profit margin of 8.4% indicate the company's ability to control overhead and convert sales into actual earnings. Regarding liquidity and leverage, the company holds $450.08M in cash against total debt of $1.18B, resulting in a debt-to-equity ratio of 62.24% which suggests a leveraged balance sheet typical for capital-intensive manufacturing. The current ratio of 2.75 indicates a robust short-term liquidity position, as current assets significantly exceed current liabilities, ensuring the ability to meet immediate obligations. Furthermore, the return on equity of 16.7% and return on assets of 7.4% highlight management's effectiveness in generating returns from shareholder capital and utilizing the company's total asset base efficiently.

मूल्यांकन आकलन

The trailing twelve-month P/E ratio is 23.52, while the forward P/E is 16.11, implying that the market expects earnings growth that would bridge the gap between current valuations and future profitability expectations. The price-to-book ratio is 3.68, indicating that the market values the company at a premium of 3.68 times its book value, reflecting confidence in its intangible assets and future cash flow generation potential beyond tangible equity. Additional valuation metrics include a price-to-sales ratio of 1.87 and an EV/EBITDA of 13.10, which suggest that investors are willing to pay a moderate multiple relative to sales and enterprise earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization. The stock's trading range over the last year spans from a 52-week low of $76.60 to a 52-week high of $194.77, providing context for current price positioning relative to recent volatility extremes. With a beta of 1.07, EnerSys exhibits price volatility that is slightly higher than the broader market, suggesting that the stock tends to move in tandem with general market indices but with increased sensitivity to market fluctuations.

Growth & Income

Revenue growth stands at 1.4% year-over-year, while earnings growth is -16.7% year-over-year, indicating that earnings are currently declining faster than revenue, which points to pressure on profitability or margin compression despite stable top-line performance. As a dividend payer, the company offers a dividend yield of 0.6% with a payout ratio of 12.5%, a low payout ratio that suggests the dividend is highly sustainable given the company's earnings level and leaves ample room for retention of earnings to fund operations or debt reduction. The combination of modest revenue expansion and negative earnings growth alongside a low dividend yield paints a profile of a mature industrial business prioritizing stability over aggressive income growth. Overall, the growth and income profile reflects a utility-like characteristic within the industrials sector, balancing consistent cash flow generation with moderate returns to shareholders.
