公司概述
Pembina Pipeline Corporation functions as a comprehensive energy transportation and midstream services provider, serving the sector through three distinct operational segments: Pipelines, Facilities, and Marketing & New Ventures. The company operates within the Energy sector, specifically the Oil & Gas Midstream industry, where its core business involves managing the critical infrastructure required to move crude oil and refined products across vast networks. Pembina holds a substantial market capitalization of $25.98 billion, supported by an annual revenue of $7.78 billion and an employee base of 2,974 individuals. These valuation and revenue figures indicate that Pembina is a major player with significant scale in the midstream infrastructure market, possessing the capacity to handle substantial volumes of energy commodities while maintaining a diverse operational footprint.
财务健康
The company generated $7.78 billion in revenue over the trailing twelve months, resulting in $1.55 billion in net income and $3.44 billion in EBITDA, highlighting a robust operating performance before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization. The gap between the $7.78 billion revenue and the $1.55 billion net income reveals a substantial cost structure where operating expenses, including depreciation and interest costs, consume a significant portion of top-line growth before reaching the bottom line. Pembina demonstrated strong financial flexibility with $1.86 billion in free cash flow, providing ample liquidity to service obligations, fund capital projects, and return value to shareholders without relying heavily on external financing. The company maintains a gross margin of 38.4%, an operating margin of 27.0%, and a profit margin of 21.8%, indicating that for every dollar of revenue, the company retains a healthy portion after accounting for the cost of goods sold and all operational expenses. In terms of capital structure, Pembina holds $106.00 million in cash against $13.31 billion in debt, resulting in a debt-to-equity ratio of 79.36%, which suggests a leveraged balance sheet typical for asset-heavy midstream utilities that rely on debt financing for expansion. The current ratio stands at 0.61, indicating that current assets are lower than current liabilities, which points to a reliance on long-term financing or restricted cash rather than immediate liquid assets to cover short-term obligations. Management effectiveness is reflected in a return on equity of 9.9% and a return on assets of 4.4%, metrics that show the company generates returns on shareholder capital and total assets, though the ROA remains moderate relative to the high equity multiplier implied by the leverage.
估值评估
The stock trades at a trailing twelve-month P/E ratio of 23.40 with a forward P/E of 20.53, implying that the market expects earnings growth in the future that would justify a lower multiple compared to historical performance. The price-to-book ratio is 2.40, suggesting that the market values the company at a significant premium over its tangible book value, likely reflecting the scarcity and essential nature of its pipeline assets. Alternative valuation metrics such as a price-to-sales ratio of 3.34 and an EV/EBITDA of 11.91 provide context that the company is valued higher than its sales generation but remains reasonable relative to earnings power when adjusted for enterprise value. The 52-week trading range spans from a low of $34.13 to a high of $46.20, meaning the current price sits within this historical volatility band and has not yet reached its recent maximum. With a beta of 0.71, the stock exhibits lower price volatility relative to the broader market, making it less sensitive to general market fluctuations than the average equity.
Growth & Income
Revenue growth slowed to -10.8% year-over-year while earnings growth declined by -14.9%, indicating that earnings are contracting at a faster rate than revenue due to margin pressures or one-time costs. As a dividend payer, Pembina offers a yield of 4.6% but maintains a payout ratio of 106.0%, which means the company is distributing more in dividends than it is generating in net income, relying on cash flow or reserve draws to sustain the payout. Given the payout ratio exceeding 100%, the sustainability of the dividend is contingent on capital allocation discipline and the ability to maintain free cash flow despite the negative earnings growth. The overall growth and income profile presents a high-yield opportunity balanced against current contraction in both revenue and earnings, requiring careful monitoring of operational performance to ensure the dividend remains covered by cash flows.
