公司概述
Dana Incorporated operates within the consumer cyclical sector, specifically serving the auto parts industry by delivering power-conveyance and energy-management solutions for on-highway vehicles across North America, Europe, South America, and the Asia Pacific regions. Its business model extends to light vehicle segments, providing critical components such as axles, driveshafts, and systems for internal combustion engines, hybrids, and electric vehicles. The company demonstrates significant scale with a total market capitalization of $3.96 billion and annual revenue reaching $7.50 billion, supported by a workforce of 26,900 employees. These valuation and revenue figures indicate that Dana Incorporated maintains a substantial position in the global automotive supply chain, reflecting its capability to service diverse international markets while managing complex manufacturing operations.
财务健康
The company reported trailing twelve-month revenue of $7.50 billion alongside a net income of -$70,000,000, while generating an EBITDA of $554.00 million, a disparity that reveals a cost structure where operating expenses and taxes consume a significant portion of earnings before interest and taxes. Despite the reported net loss, the generation of $327.00 million in free cash flow provides the firm with notable financial flexibility to fund capital expenditures or manage working capital needs without immediate reliance on external equity financing. Margin analysis shows a gross margin of 8.0%, an operating margin of 4.2%, and a profit margin of 1.1%, indicating that while the company retains some value from production, its ability to convert sales into bottom-line profit is currently constrained by high operational costs. The balance sheet presents a highly leveraged profile with total debt of $3.54 billion against cash holdings of $469.00 million, resulting in a debt-to-equity ratio of 394.22 which suggests significant reliance on borrowed capital relative to shareholders' equity. Short-term liquidity is assessed via a current ratio of 1.17, indicating that current assets barely exceed current liabilities, which limits the company's buffer against unexpected short-term obligations. Return metrics further highlight structural challenges, with a return on equity of -4.3% and a return on assets of 1.6%, suggesting that management effectiveness in generating returns on the capital base is currently negative for equity holders but modestly positive for total assets.
估值评估
Valuation multiples for Dana Incorporated include a trailing P/E ratio listed as N/A due to the net loss, contrasted with a forward P/E of 10.08, implying that the market expects earnings recovery in the future period despite current profitability headwinds. The price-to-book ratio stands at 4.83, indicating that the stock trades at a significant premium relative to its tangible book value, which often reflects market expectations for intangible assets or future growth potential in the auto parts sector. Alternative valuation metrics such as a price-to-sales ratio of 0.53 and an EV/EBITDA of 12.74 provide context, suggesting the market prices the company based on sales volume and earnings power before interest and taxes rather than current net income. Price action over the last year has ranged between a 52-week high of $36.48 and a 52-week low of $10.11, creating a wide trading band that highlights the asset's volatility and potential for significant price re-rating. The stock exhibits a beta of 2.04, meaning its price volatility is more than double that of the broader market, making it a high-risk component for portfolios seeking exposure to the consumer cyclical sector.
Growth & Income
Revenue growth for the trailing twelve-month period is recorded at 5.2%, whereas earnings growth is N/A due to the current net loss, indicating that top-line expansion is outpacing profitability recovery. The company currently pays a dividend with a yield of 1.3% and maintains a payout ratio of 90.9%, a level that is mathematically unsustainable given the reported net loss of -$70,000,000 and implies a reliance on cash flow or dividend arrears rather than distributable earnings. Consequently, the dividend yield must be viewed with caution as it does not reflect a sustainable distribution of profits under current accounting standards. Overall, Dana Incorporated presents a growth profile driven by revenue expansion in the on-highway and light vehicle segments, coupled with an income profile that currently defies traditional sustainability metrics due to the negative net income position.
