Visão geral da empresa

The The Wendy's Company operates a network of quick-service restaurants through its own subsidiaries, focusing on the operation, development, and franchising of its system across the United States and international markets. This business model positions the entity within the Consumer Cyclical sector and the Restaurants industry, indicating that its performance is directly correlated with discretionary consumer spending patterns and economic cycles. The company currently holds a market capitalization of $1.34B and generates annual revenue of $2.18B, supported by an workforce of 4967 employees. These valuation and revenue figures suggest a mid-sized enterprise operating within a highly competitive landscape, where the market cap reflects investor sentiment regarding its future cash flow potential while the revenue scale demonstrates its established footprint in the food service sector.

Saúde financeira

The company reported a Total Revenue of $2.18B for the trailing twelve months, resulting in a Net Income of $165.08M and an EBITDA of $491.40M. The significant disparity between the revenue figure and the net income reveals a substantial cost structure comprising operating expenses, taxes, and interest, which collectively reduce the bottom line to approximately 7.6% of sales. Free Cash Flow stands at $171.18M, providing a measure of the cash generated after capital expenditures that the company can utilize for operational flexibility or debt servicing. The gross margin is recorded at 34.7%, while the operating margin sits at 12.4%, indicating the efficiency of the core business before interest and taxes. The profit margin of 7.6% further illustrates the final profitability after all corporate expenses are deducted. In terms of leverage, total debt amounts to $4.15B, which contrasts sharply with a cash balance of $300.83M, and the debt-to-equity ratio is an exceptionally high 3531.19. This balance sheet structure indicates a heavily leveraged position where equity is minimal relative to debt obligations. The current ratio is 1.76, which suggests that the company possesses sufficient current assets to cover its short-term liabilities without immediate distress. Return on Equity is reported at 87.6%, while Return on Assets is 4.2%, metrics that collectively reveal the intense capital efficiency required to generate returns given the company's specific asset and equity base.

Avaliação de valorização

The stock trades with a Trailing Twelve Months P/E Ratio of 8.31 and a Forward P/E of 10.65. The difference between these two metrics implies that the market is pricing in an expected improvement in earnings trajectory over the coming year, as the forward multiple is higher than the trailing multiple. The Price to Book ratio is 11.44, indicating that the market values the company's equity at a significant premium relative to its net asset book value. Alternative valuation metrics such as the Price to Sales ratio of 0.62 and the EV/EBITDA of 10.56 provide context on the company's valuation relative to its sales generation and operational earnings power. The 52-week high is $13.55 and the 52-week low is $6.67. Given the current market data, the stock is trading near the lower end of its recent trading range, specifically positioned below the 52-week high of $13.55 and above the 52-week low of $6.67. The Beta value is 0.41, which indicates that the stock price exhibits significantly lower volatility relative to the broader market, moving less than half as much as the overall index during periods of market fluctuation.

Growth & Income

For the trailing twelve months, the Revenue Growth year-over-year was -5.5%, while Earnings Growth year-over-year was -40.7%. This divergence indicates that earnings are contracting at a much faster rate than revenue, implying that cost pressures or margin compression are exacerbating the decline in profitability beyond the revenue shortfall. The company offers a Dividend Yield of 7.9%, supported by a Payout Ratio of 78.8%. This high payout ratio suggests that the company is distributing a large portion of its earnings to shareholders, which must be viewed in light of the negative earnings growth to assess sustainability. The negative earnings growth of -40.7% combined with the high payout ratio presents a complex income profile where current income is strong but potentially difficult to maintain if earnings continue to deteriorate. Overall, the growth and income profile reflects a company facing significant headwinds in profitability that are not being matched by revenue performance, while maintaining a high current dividend yield.
