Descripción de la empresa

Its operational scale is significant, supported by a market capitalization of $23.62B, an annual revenue of $4.58B, and an extensive workforce of 7739 employees. These financial metrics collectively indicate that the entity holds a substantial position in the global supply chain for fertilizers, offering a broad portfolio that includes sodium potassium nitrate, specialty blends, and other specialty products sold under brands such as Ultrasol, Qrop, Speedfol, Allganic, Ultrasoline, Prop, and Prohydric.

Salud financiera

The company reported a total revenue of $4.58B over the trailing twelve months, generating a net income of $588.14M and an EBITDA of $1.48B. The substantial gap between the $4.58B revenue figure and the $588.14M net income reveals a cost structure where approximately 87% of sales are consumed by operating expenses, taxes, and interest before arriving at the bottom line. Despite these costs, the enterprise maintains a robust free cash flow of $429.63M, which provides the necessary financial flexibility to service its obligations, invest in operations, or potentially repurchase shares without external financing. The profitability analysis shows a Gross Margin of 29.6%, indicating the efficiency of production relative to the cost of goods sold, while the Operating Margin of 28.3% reflects the effectiveness of managing overhead costs before interest and taxes. Further, the Profit Margin stands at 12.9%, which is the final percentage of revenue that translates into net earnings available to shareholders. On the balance sheet, the company holds $2.72B in cash against total debt of $4.76B, resulting in a Debt to Equity ratio of 59.16, suggesting a leveraged capital structure where debt obligations exceed cash reserves. However, the Current Ratio of 3.27 indicates a highly conservative stance regarding short-term liquidity, as current assets are more than three times the value of current liabilities, ensuring the ability to meet immediate obligations. Additionally, the Return on Equity is 9.7% and the Return on Assets is 5.2%, metrics that reveal the management's effectiveness in generating profits from the equity invested and the total asset base, respectively.

Evaluación de valoración

Valuation metrics for Sociedad Química y Minera de Chile S.A. present a disparity between current performance and future expectations, with a P/E Ratio (TTM) of 40.15 compared to a Forward P/E of 14.98. This significant difference implies that the market anticipates a substantial increase in earnings growth to justify the current high multiple, suggesting that the stock is priced based on future potential rather than current profitability. The Price to Book ratio stands at 4.15, indicating that the market values the company at a premium of more than four times its net asset value, which often occurs in cyclical or resource-based industries with high growth expectations. Alternative valuation measures include a Price to Sales ratio of 5.16 and an EV/EBITDA of 18.97, both of which suggest the company is valued highly relative to its sales volume and operating cash generation before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization. The stock's trading range over the last year spans from a 52-Week Low of $29.36 to a 52-Week High of $86.13, providing a context for the current valuation relative to recent price volatility. The Beta value of 1.04 indicates that the stock's price volatility moves in line with the broader market, meaning it does not exhibit excessive sensitivity to general market fluctuations compared to high-beta or low-beta peers.

Growth & Income

Sociedad Química y Minera de Chile S.A. has demonstrated strong momentum with a Revenue Growth (YoY) of 23.3% and an Earnings Growth (YoY) of 52.3%. The fact that earnings are growing at more than double the rate of revenue implies significant operational leverage and potential cost efficiencies or pricing power that are amplifying the bottom line faster than top-line sales expansion. Regarding income distributions, the company currently has a Dividend Yield of N/A and a Payout Ratio of 0.0%, indicating that it does not distribute a portion of its earnings to shareholders in the form of regular dividends. Instead of paying out cash, the company retains its earnings to reinvest into growth initiatives, capital expenditures, and debt reduction, a strategy common among companies prioritizing expansion over immediate income generation. This approach allows the firm to maintain a strong balance sheet and fund future projects internally. Overall, the growth and income profile is characterized by aggressive earnings expansion driven by high-margin operations and a capital allocation strategy focused on reinvestment rather than dividend payouts.
